Inspired by bottles - Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans jar

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The first challenge theme of the new year was chosen by the lovely Brenda: Inspired by bottles. As you can see, here on my blog the most popular post is the "Jar for the Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans". But I had made this just before I have found the Sizzix Big Shot and the Sizzix dies.

So I decided to make a new version with Sizzix. This was a Christmas present for a friend of my daughter who is reading the Harry Potter books nowadays.

For this I used an empty and cleaned horseradish jar.

I cut out the scalloped band from yellow cardstock.

Then the cover from green cardstock. This part went to the  small dots embossing folder by Rachael Bright (655838).

The Bertie Bott's text was printed and not stamped. Then I cut out with scalloped circle.

I glued the yellow part to the jar with Glue Dots.

But after I glued the other part with just a simple glue for papers.

To the backside I also wrote a Honeyduke text and I cut it out from a smaller Framelits Die, Scallop Circle (657552).

I painted the lid with a green acrylic paint, for this you need a really good quality acrylic paint. I painted the lid without a primer but it's better to use one.

At the end I tied a polka dot yellow ribbon around the top.

Ouups, one more thing! I covered the printed text with Micro Glaze. Many times I had the experience that my printed texts were blurred because I printed with ink-jet printer. This is a great product to protect the text. I used Judikins Microglaze but I think Tim Holtz Distress Glaze is perfect too.

I filled my jar with Jelly Beans from The Jelly Bean Factory. In the Luxembourgish Little Britain shop I got this. But you can buy beans from Jelly Belly too, they still produce the weird flavours like ear wax, soap, dirt, vomit etc.  :-)

So please join the challenge of the Country View Crafts and show us your fabulous ideas. You can also win a £20 voucher!
