Tag with London bus - Wacky Transport by Tim Holtz

Hello everyone, I'm here with my second inspirational project which is also my last. In June I'm leaving the team, as I've already said in the post of my first project.

The theme is Vehicle and I'm also the host of this challenge this month. My second project is a tag with a London bus and Big Ben.

I cut out a tag from 300 gsm watercolour paper, then I stamped the Big Ben with embossing ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder. As you can see the bus was already ready. I cut out twice from red paper. I glued them together but then I added a red paint coat for protection.

The background was made with Distress Oxide inks first, I used Salvaged Patina, Broken China and Frayed Burlap.

Then I added the dots with Brushed Corduroy to the bottom and Faded Jeans to the top.

Then I added diluted white paint for interest which is also a great sealing of the Distress inks. I dabbed the paint with a sponge to the surface.

After drying it looked like this and I inked the edges with Distress Archival inks, Prize Ribbon and Ground Espresso. Yes, and I forgot to mention that I coloured the Big Ben with Antique Linen Distress marker.

The text was stamped with Distress Archival ink, Ground Espresso, but it didn't become that dark. I think it happened because of the background. I suppose the Oxide ink was not completely sealed with the paint.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Wacky Transport (665220)

Stampers Anonymous, Psychedelic Grunge (CMS056)

Stampers Anonymous, Papillon (CMS106)

Stampers Anonymous, London Sights (CMS158)

Ranger Distress inks, oxide and original

Ranger Distress Archival inks

etc.

So If you have a project with a vehicle or vehicles, please don't hesitate to join our May challenge where a randomly selected lucky winner can have a £20 voucher in the Country View Crafts shop.

With this tag, I would like to join the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge: Paint it
