Christmas elves and red bokeh background

Last year we had a bokeh challenge over at the Country View Challenges so I made a blue bokeh background with Tim Holtz Santa's Helper. I really liked that technique and the card I created. (Here is the link to the last year card).

So this year I decided to make another card with the same technique using Tim's two little elves, the new one and the old one.

For making this card, I had to cut off the ice skates from the shoes of the new elf.

For creating the background, I used almost all the red Distress inks and Distress Oxide inks and the circle stencil that I made myself.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Santa's Helper by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Alphanumeric Label by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Thin Ice by Tim Holtz

Ranger Distress ink pad (Barn Door, Candied Apple, Fired Brick)

Ranger Distress Oxide ink pads (Barn Door, Picked Raspberry, Warn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Picket Fence)

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Christmas card with elf by MFT

When yesterday I finished my Christmas card with the cutest Santa ever, I couldn't stop and I made another one with the cutest elf ever.

I also wanted to create a polka dot background but with another technique, so I used the Swiss Dots die instead of the Swiss Dots background stamp.

What I used:

Mushroom houses and gnomes with coffee

When I first saw the mushroom houses of the Stampendous I knew at once that I wanted them. It was love at the first sight.

And the same happened with me when I caught sight the gnomes (or elves) Buddy and Jolly of the Stamping Bella.

From these stamps I imagined a picture with two cute gnomes who just come out from their home to drink a coffee together early in the morning because "coffee and friends make the perfect blend".

I can show you some photos of the making.

Here is the gessoed A4 chipboard.

I drew the outlines of the die-cut houses and stamped the elves.

I stamped the windows and doors of the houses.

I covered the images with papers. I adhered the cover papers with cellotapes.

With a sponge I tapped acrylic paints (different greens and turquoises) on the surface.

After I started to stamp the greens with archival inks, then I coloured the images.

What I used:

PaperArtsy, Eclectica Kay Carley EKC01,EKC02

acrylic paints

Ranger Distress markers

Ranger Archival inks (jet balck, olive, coffee)

Copic Sketch markers

gesso

chipboard (A4)

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #18

I have already brought here cards where Santa arrives on foot, by car, by motorbike but now the half angel-half elf creatures are loading the pine trees and packages to an aeroplane.

The card was posted in 1940.

You can find my other cards under the label: 'old Christmas cards'.

MFT elves with Tim Holtz Christmas tree

Today I have finished a card but somehow I wasn't satisfied with it. I didn't want to post it either. But my daughter who generally doesn't like my works, today when she arrived from school became enthusiastic after seeing my card. So I thought that maybe someone else could like it too. Well, this is why I have changed my mind and now I show you my card with elves.

With this card I would like to enter to the current challenge of the Fantasy Stampers Blog: TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS

What I used:

Ranger Distress markers

Ranger Distress ink pads
