Card - Halloween fireplace

Hello crafty friends, I'm here with the second project for our October challenge over at the Country View Challenges. This month I'm your hostess, it means I had to choose the theme which is (what else?) Halloween - create a scene.

My first project was a card with an outdoor scene where you can find the main elements of Halloween, you know, haunted house, bats, full moon, ghost.... Now here you can see the interior of that haunted house.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Fireside by Tim Holtz - for the fireplace

Sizzix Thinlits die, Frightful Things by Tim Holtz - for the ghost, the broom, the skull and the spider

Sizzix Thinlits die, Regions Beyond by Tim Holtz - for the candles and the bottles

Sizzix Thinlits die, Santa's Helper by Tim Holtz - for the books

Idea-Ology, Warn Wallpaper (Halloween) - for the background

Idea-Ology, Paper Stash (Dapper) - for the bottom of the background

Idea-Ology, Small Talk (Occasion) - for the text

Idea-Ology, Apothecary Vials - only one of the labels for the green bottle

So if you fancy making a Halloween scene, please don't hesitate to join our challenge where a randomly selected winner can have a £20 voucher to spend at the Country View Crafts online shop.

Halloween wine tag with spiderweb and skull

Okay, I promise this is my last wine tag in this Halloween season! No more until next year!

The tag was cut out with an MFT-Die Namics Wine Tag die. I really love the shape and the size of this die.

Then I stamped and heat embossed the spiderweb from Tim Holtz Webs&Damask stamp set. After I blended Distress inks onto the tag, Bundled Sage and then Peeled Paint. But then I wanted to make the colours more vivid, so I also added Twisted Citron.

The edges were inked with Gathered Twigs and Black Soot.

I cut out the skull from 300gsm watercolour paper and then I put Gritt Paste on the surface. When it was dry I smudged it with diluted paints and Distress Crayon. And fussy cut a background paper to place behind the skull. This paper is a retired Kraft-Core paper and as you can see, I sanded a little bit.

The bone was cut into two pieces, because it was easier for me to put it on the tag.

I put double-sided adhesive the back of the bones and skull and I started to adhere them to the tag.

What I used:

MFT Die-Namics, Wine Tag die

Stampers Anonymous, Webs&Damask by Tim Holtz

Stampers Anonymous, Regions Beyond by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Bigz die, Skull and Crossbones by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Frightful Things

Ranger Distress ink pads (Gathered Twigs, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage, Black Soot)

Ranger Distress Gritt Paste

Ranger embossing powder (black, white)

Core'dinations Kraft-Core paper

etc.

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

With my tag, I would like to join the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Spooky

Wine tag with Mr Undertaker and dotty background

Now, this tag is a mixture of my two earlier tags with slight changes of course.

Here I wrote a tutorial on how to make the dotty background with Shifter Stencil by Tim Holtz. But for this tag, I used four colours instead of two. These are the following: Ranger Archival Shadow Grey, Watering Can, Majestic Violet, Tiger Lily.

Here is my other tag with Mr. Undertaker. But since I ran out from the "open if you dare" stickers I used the Regions Beyond stamp set which has exactly the same text :-)

With my tag, I would like to join the following challenges:

I hope you like!!! Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

Mini Halloween skull box

Oh I know, I know it's not Halloween yet but my nephews are getting bigger and they more and more like the scary things, the Harry Potter kinda things.

This is a mini box (6x6x4,5cm). Actually it was one of my ring boxes that I altered the way I've already posted a long time ago here. There is only one difference though... at this box the first step was to glue the half scull with a glue gun and then I covered with paper napkins.

Here is the plastic skull I cut it half.

And another photo when it was painted black.

Thanks for visiting me!

12 tags of 2016 - May - Tim Holtz Undertaker

Although Tim Holtz used the face of a beautiful lady for making the May tag, I took an utterly opposite direction to make my tag and I chose an ugly face of a skull. I wanted a big face and since the lovely Lady Rose hasn't arrived to me yet, I used the Undertaker stamp set :-)

I think this tag will be very useful on Halloween.

For making flowers for this ugly face seemed to me a weird idea first but after I thought: why not? they are just like "Les Fleurs du Mal" (The flowers of Evil) from Charles Baudelaire.

I hope you like it! Happy crafting!
