Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #152

A beautiful monochromatic card which has un undivided back. It means there is no place for the text on the back side. This is why the sender wrote his greetings on the front. The sender also wrote two names under the children: Frici and Hilda. I wonder who were Frici and Hilda?

This card was posted in 1905.

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #151

I can say that there is nothing special about this card but of course I can't say this because it's cute and vintage - almost a 100 years old. It was posted in 1927.

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #104

This is an adorable scene with little girls who, I don't know, got Santa's bag? But it's not nice to throw things they don't want on the snow :-)

This postcard was posted in 1933.

MFT Birdie Brown children around a snow globe

Hello everyone, let me show you one of my projects that I make for a class of students who were taking part in a charity event. This is one of the Hungarian classes of the European School who filled shoe boxes with toys, sweets, hygiene items etc. to send them to Eastern Europe for children in need. One of the mums who organised this action and who collected the boxes asked me to make a big card thanking the children for the participation.

So I made a really big, A4 card.

The text means: To give is a joy!

I coloured the images with Copic Sketch markers. I covered the globe with Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder and the snowflakes were added with white embossing powders.

What I used:

MFT Birdie Brown Pile On The Hugs stamp set

MFT Birdie Brown Snow Buddies stamp set

MFT Birdie Brown, Santa's Elves stamp set

MFT Birdie Brown, Happy Pawlidays stamp set

MFT Negative Dot Alphabet Die-Namics

Sizzix Thinlits die, Snowglobe by Tim Holtz

Copic Sketch markers

Ranger embossing powders (white, gold tinsel)

etc.

Of course, I joined this action too and here you can read about the Shoebox Donation.

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #90

And again a Mikulás, St Nicholas card because this morning the good children will find many goodies in their boots.

The text is the same as on my yesterday's card: Greetings from Saint Nicholas. But here the children were dressed in Hungarian folk costume. So I'm sure this card was not printed in Germany or Italy, it's a Hungarian card and the sign, "Zsolt" which is a typical Hungarian name confirms this.

I have no idea when it was sent because the big portion of the postmark was removed when they removed the stamp. I guess sometime in the early 1940s.

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #89

According to the Hungarian tradition, during the night of December 5, St Nicholas goes from house to house to put tiny gifts to the children's shiny and clean boots. This is why, today I would like to show you a "Mikulás" card, a St Nicholas card. The text means greetings from St Nicholas.

This card was sent in 1927, I guess. The postmark is not so clear or visible but the stamp they used was published from 1926-1928.

Winter scene with MFT Snow Buddies stamp set

Hello everyone, I'm here again with another card which was made for the Card Design Superstar Contest of the My Favorite Things. This one is for the Coloring Virtuoso category.

For this card, I got the inspiration from one of my earlier cards. Although I changed a little bit of my earlier scene, the main elements are still here. Well, I imagined a wintry scene on a filled where the children were playing all afternoon, the weather is cloudy and windy, and the snow started to fall. One snowflake even landed on the nose of the doggy. It's time to go home! But just one last picture!

What I used:

MFT Die-Namics, Slimline Starter die set

MFT Birdie Brown, Snow Buddies stamp set

MFT Cool Christmas stamp set

MFT Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set

Copic Sketch markers

Neenah Solar white paper

etc.

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #68

Christmas postcards featuring Santa are the most wanted for the collectors but cards with car, or airplane, or train, or any transportation are very popular too.

This is why, this postcard with an airplane is very special.

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #45

Here I am with a lovely postcard from 1931.

In this picture the old chap is not a classical Santa Claus or Saint Nicolas, he is rather a Father Frost or a Father Winter.
