Canvas with scarecrow and tree

Two days ago my daughter asked me to make her something, a decoration on her wall. She didn't mind if the theme was autumnal or Halloween, but it couldn't be scary.

And because I haven't used the Scarecrow die yet, it was time to create something with it. And to make it more child-friendly, I gave this scarecrow a personality.

What I used:

So this is a little (13x18cm) canvas.

First I adhered a napkin paper with decoupage glue with creating many wrinkles during the process.

After drying I put a layer of white acrylic paint (DecoArt White Wash).

After drying I coloured with watered acrylic paints (DecoArt).

After drying I tried to colour slightly the wrinkles with light brown Derwent crayon.

The tree was painted with acrylic paint, all the other elements are inked (Ranger Distress).

The pumpkin is from Brenda Brown when last year I won a giveaway on her blog. It was perfect here, so thank you, Brenda!

With my canvas I would like to join the following challenges:

- Monday Challenge of Simon Says Stamp: Not a card

- A Vintage Journey: Crazy For Autumn Colour

- Creative Artiste Mixed Media: Anything mixed media goes (31)

Stamped clementine box with the Katzelkraft dogs

Here is the second clementine box which was made with the Katzelkraft stamp, with "Les Chiens" - ou avec les chien :-)).

You can find my previous blogpost here where I tell you the reason why and for who I prepared these boxes, I'm sorry but I don't want to bore you again with telling the whole story again.

Now let me show you the photos!

You can see that I used not just the Katzelkraft stamp set (Les Chien) but a PaperArtsy and a Tim Holtz stamp set as well.

On my previous blogpost you can find some instructions too if you would like to know how I made these boxes.

What I used:

DecoArt Americana acrylic paints

etc.

I hope you like it! Happy crafting!

Stamped clementine box with Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs

During the winter my daughter finished at least 10 clementine boxes, I mean she had eaten at least 10x2kg clementines just by herself :-) And because I didn't want to throw them away (either environment friendly way or not), I altered them. From two of them I have made storage boxes for my nephews' toys.

The first one looks like this:

From the internet I fished a picture from the original box to show you how it looked before:

Here are my photos before the colouring:

I painted the boxes white with acrylic paints (DecoArt Americana White Wash). I put at least two coats on each side.

I stamped the images with Ranger Archival ink (Potting Soil), then I sprinkled with Ranger clear embossing powder, and after I melted the powder.

I coloured the images with DecoArt Americana acrylic paints.

Here are the photos of the final result.

In the end I put a layer of matte varnish to protect the surface.

I don't know what my nephew will keep in this box but I put my daughter's Tsum Tsum collection in it to show how handy this box  is to store toys.

Soon I will come with my other box which will be decorated with the Katzelkraft dogs.

Name banners for boys

This is a quick post to show you the name banners I have made for my lovely nephews. I promised them during the summer when we were in Hungary to make banners above their desks.

On the banner you can see the abbreviations of their names (Zsigmond-Zsigi, Mátyás-Matyi). I know, it's greek to you - hahaha!

If you click on the pictures, you can see them in bigger sizes!

Oh, and Rachel, if you see this post, you can see that I'm totally hooked on your November challenge theme - hahaha again!

Matchbox bed for Lalaloopsy

My daughter loves her Lalaloopsy mini figure. So I decided to make her doll, Peanut Big Top a little matchbox bed. For this the perfect choice was the Sizzix Movers&Shapers Die, Matchbox by Where Women Cook (659198).

The polka dot cover papers are from the First Edition.

I cut out the letters with Die-Namics Negative Dots, Alphabet die.

My Xyron machine also helped me a lot to adhere the letters to the top.

Do you see how the doll fits perfectly in the box?

And yes, my daughter, Eszter was very pleased with it :-)

Pink shabby chic box with drawers

I made this box for Eszter... a storage for her tiny stuff.

The basic is a simple plain wooden storage box with 3 drawers that I bought very cheap at the German Tedi store.

First I painted it white with acrylic paint.

Then I sanded with sandpaper because some parts of the box were very rough.

Here, you can see it before sanding:

And after sanding:

Then I put a thin layer of pink acrylic paint. I used the Marabu Wild Rose colour.

Meanwhile I asked Eszter what pattern she preferred from my paper napkin collection and she chose the little cupcakes. I tried to persuade her of choosing the owls instead but I think she had enough of my owls :-)

I cut out the cake shapes with scissors and I glued them with decoupage glue on the wooden surface.

I made the number by myself with using a plain brown IKEA paper napkin and a Sizzix die (Wanted by Tim Holtz).

Then I sanded the edges and other parts to give a shabby look but just slightly because Eszter looked very nasty at me :-)

You can see the drawer number 1 before sanding, and the drawer number 3 after sanding:

In the end I put a neither too thick and nor too thin layer of Ranger Distress Paint (Clear Rock Candy).

You can see nice tiny crackles on the wood here:

and here:

I named the box:  NUMBERS OF CUPCAKE
