Sizzix - Little girl, house, tree and bicycle on canvas

Well, it was that picture I had made for my sister but I've already written about it. I really don't want to praise myself but it was a very cute picture. It was that cute that my daughter, Eszter started to pant after it or at least something similar. So I couldn't do anything else than making the girly version of that canvas.

That blond girl with blue eyes in the middle of the picture has to be Eszter.

And I'm sure that I don't have to translate for you the sentiment: La vie est belle

Since I've already given a detailed explanation of how to do, I would like to skip that part this time. But at the end of this blogpost you can find my supply list.

I just would like to tell you that it was me who stamped the butterfly on a white paper napkin and it was an IHR paper napkin from which I cut out the flowers.

The size of the canvas is: 25x35 cm, is about 10x14".

Sizzix - house and boys on canvas

I made this picture for my sister. From the picture you can find out that my sister lives in a house and she has two sons. I put a nice quote on it: Home is where happy memories grow.

Before I made the picture I took the 24x30 cm canvas and I put all the cut outs to see how it looked like.

Then I embossed and coloured the cut outs. I attached two and a half brick wall strip (by Tim Holtz) and I smeared modelling paste with palette knife on the house

Then I put two layers of gesso on the canvas. And next I glued book pages with decoupage glue on the dried gesso. Before gluing the book pages I wetted the pages with water.

After drying I put a thin layer of modelling paste on the canvas.

With Scotch tape (sellotape) I fixed some greaseproof paper behind the windows.

I coloured the canvas with Ranger Distress (Bundled Sage) and Tsukineko Memento (Summer Sky) inks.

It was me who made the bush and the butterflies with stamping them on one layer of paper napkin. And I put them on the picture with decoupage glue.

In the end I put a thin coat of acrylic medium on the whole picture.

Do you see that one of the boys is brown haired with brown eyes, the other is blond with blue eyes,  just like my nephews, Zsiga and Matyi.

What I used:

Sizzix Sizzlits Die, Boy with cap (655711)

Sizzix Framelits Die, Eggs (658691)

Sizzix - Winter picture from a chocolate box

Here's a winter picture which is made from a Lindt chocolate box.

I had to work on it a lot but I enjoyed every minute of it.

If you want to make something similar you have to do this:

1. Take an empty chocolate box and paint it white with acrylic paint.

2. When it's all white cover it with book pages. You have to use decoupage glue and you have to glue both side of the paper. The papers have to be totally wet of glue to soften and to fit perfectly on the box, to blend into the box.

3. When it dried put a slight layer of modelling paste everywhere (inside-outside).

4. When it dried put another, a thicker layer on the inside bottom and a slight pearl white layer on the inside top.

5. Cut out the kids with sleigh shape at least three times from black cardstock and glue them together to make a little dimension for them. Cover it with black Marabu Glitter Liner.

6. Cut out the tree border shape two times from white cardstock and paint them with inks.

7. Paint the sky part with blue ink.

8. Glue the tree border to the top of the hill and put another coat of modelling paste.

9. Cut out the letters and glue to the top of the picture.

10. Glue some tiny pearl to pretend as if the snow is falling.

11. Glue the kids on the snowy part with 3D glue.

12. Put a slight coat of acrylic medium on the outside part of the frame to give a little protection.

13. Attach a frame hanger with hot glue.

14. And now the picture can go to the wall.

What I used:

Schmincke acrylic fluid medium

cardstocks

tiny pearls

Marabu black glitter liner

hot glue, 3D adhesive, Tacky Glue

frame hook

DIY framed Halloween pictures for kids - using Sizzix cutouts

Last weekend I had a creative workshop for kids where one of the tasks was to make a Halloween picture from Sizzix cut outs, with an orange A4 cardstock and with an IKEA frame.

They could choose from many Sizzix die cuts and they could assort them freely.

Here are some versions:

Such a program is ideal at birthday parties or at other children parties since it is not too complicate to make a picture. All the kids have to do is to use their fantasy and glue the papers :-)

Some pictures from my workshop:

Sizzix - DIY Minion pictures on the wall

The adorable figures of the Despicable Me, the Minions are very popular with children. That's a fact and even my  nephews are no exceptions. So I have made these pictures for them.

To avoid the fighting between them I dared to do just small changes, small differences between these two pictures. For example the blue eyes Mátyás has blue eye Minion and the brown eyes Zsigmond got brown eye Minion.

The preparation is nearly the same as the card's I had shown you before.

But as these pictures are more detailed than the card, and as I couldn't find everything among my Sizzix dies that I needed, I had to draw and cut out some shapes (legs, hands) by myself.

The size of the picture is A4.
