New Year's card with Mr Snowman

Hello everyone, I'm here with my second project for the Stars challenge of the Country View Challenges. Along with the Christmas card with Mr Snowman, I started to make a New Year's card.

For making this card, I cut out a huge panel from watercolour paper. I painted the top with a mixture of Broken China, Picket Fence, Bundled Sage Distress paints. When it was dry, I made a starry sky using the Starry stencil and the Opaque Matte Texture Paste. But before drying I wiped off some dots and stars.

To the bottom part, I put a layer of Grit-Paste.

I inked the edges of the panel with Vintage Photo Archival ink.

The snowman was painted with Picket Fence and Broken China Distress paints. And the edges of all the parts were inked with Hickory Smoke and Vintage Photo Archival inks.

For the wooden New Years sign, I used an old and retired Sizzix die by Tim Holtz, the Sized Arches and the Alphanumeric Label Thinlits die for the text. The sign (Sized Arch) was painted with Picket Fence and Frayed Burlap paints.

The little cardinal is painted with Festive Berries Distress paint.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Alphanumeric Label

Sizzix Thinlits die, Mr Snowman

Sizzix Thinluts die, Alphanumeric 3/4

Sizzix Movers&Shapers die, Mini Cardinal&Poinsettia

Sizzix Movers&Shapers die, Sized Arches

Sizzix Bigz die, Hardware Findings - for the pole of the sign

New Year card with crazy dog by Tim Holtz

Happy New Year Everybody!!!

And if it's January 1, then it's a new challenge over at the Country View Challenges. I bet, you will love the theme: Anything goes.

So for our new challenge, I made a new year card with Tim Holtz stamps and dies.

Here is my tutorial.

First I cut out a rectangle from a mixed media paper and then I painted turquoise with Spa Blue (DecoArt). The first layer was painted with a brush but the second one was added with a sponge with tapping movement.

I painted gold the cut-outs and here one layer was enough.

I inked all the edges (the gold and turquoise as well) with Ranger Archival Potting Soil.

I spattered with brown paint the surface of the turquoise card and after drying I put a layer of Ranger Distress Collage Medium (Matte).

I used Tim's Stamping Tool to stamp the crazy dog and hat and then coloured them with Ranger Distress markers.

I stamped the text and embossed with gold.

I put my card together and for this I used 4 different adhesives: Pritt Stift, Rayher paper glue, double sided tape adhesive and foam adhesive.

What I used:

Sizzix Bigz Die, Weathered Clock by Tim Holtz (657190)

Sizzix Bigz Die, Crescent Moon&Stars by Tim Holtz (658716)

Sizzix Thinlits Die, Labels by Tim Holtz (660060)
