Christmas paper banner in purple

Here we are, it's already December and last challenge in 2016 over at Country View Challenges! Our hostess is the lovely Debs and the theme is (what else could it be?): CHRISTMAS. I bet it will be very popular!

Last Sunday there was a little Christmas market in the nearby city and I was asked to make the decorations. So I made two banners in purples with the words of CHRISTMAS and NOEL.

The owner of the place where the market was held chose the Mulberry colour from the DecoArt and I chose the Grape Juice for the other banner.

So here are my banners:

First the NOEL banner with the DecoArt Americana Grape Juice as background colour.

And secondly, the CHRISTMAS with DecoArt Americana Mulberry as the basic/background colour:

And now about the process...

For the banners I cut out 13 ornament shapes from chipboard. For this I used an old Sizzix Framelits Die, Ornaments (657942). Unfortunately, it's a retired die set so it's difficult to buy.

I used the biggest one shape.

With DecoArt paints I painted both sides of the ornaments.

And then I used two different techniques.

For the Mulberry ornaments I stamped one by one the snowflakes and melted the Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder one by one. It sounds crazy! But I did it :-)

After stamping:

After powdering with embossing powder:

For the stamping I used the Hero Arts mini snowflake clear stamps by Lia Griffith.

And I did the same with all the 9 ornaments and on both sides! In the end when I went to take my daughter from school she just looked at me strangely because there were tinsels everywhere on my face :-D

So next time with the Grape Juice colour ornaments I used a Carta Bella 6x6 snowflake stencil to speed up the process.

I cut out the words with Sizzix Sizzlits Alphabet Die by Brenda Walton (658337) - unfortunately this is retired too - and covered with glitter liner. But in the end I put one layer of Ranger Glossy Accents.
