Valentine's Day tags with Mickey and Minnie Mouse

Hello crafty friends, I would like to show you my tag duo with Mickey and Minnie that I made for Valentine's Day. 

You can find the Mickey and Minnie dies in the Spellbinders, Classic Mouse, Steamboat Willie die set. I cut out the basic pieces of the mice from black paper. But the faces and the clothes were cut out from Neenah Solar White paper and I coloured them with Copic Sketch Markers. I added dots with a white gel pen to Minnie's skirt.

The tags were painted with Ranger Distress paint, Old Paper. Then I spritzed with brown paint and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Archival ink.

The hearts were cut out from Neenah Solar White paper and I used the Sizzix Thinlits die, Stacked Tiles, Hearts by Tim Holtz (665858). I chose the second smallest size and coloured with Copic markers.

You can find the dots in the Classic Mouse, Christmas Embellishments set. I painted gold a piece of paper and when it was totally dry then I cut out the dots.

Valentine's Day card with The Park die set

Hello everyone, let me show you my latest make, a Valentine's Day card that I made with The Park die set by Tim Holtz. I used one of my earlier projects as inspiration for this card. It was a tag duo with the same stencil and embossing powder. 

After finishing the embossing, I blended the following Distress colours onto the background panel in this order: Tumbled Glass,  Salvaged Patina, Antique Linen and Salvaged Patina.

Then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.

I cut out the lady and the gentleman from black texture paper and I put a layer of kraft paper under the cut-outs.

All you need is love - Valentine's Day banner

Let me show you my latest make, a love banner that I created for Valentine's Day. But I'm sure a banner like this can be handy on a wedding anniversary, or first date anniversary as well. 

So, how did I make this? Well, I cut out 18 banners from red paper, using a Sizzix die of Framelits Plus die set, Banners. Then I cut out 18 banners with a one size smaller die from patterned paper. 

I inked the edges of the pink paper with Antique Linen, and the red polka dot with Vintage Photo.

Then I glued the patterned papers to the red bigger banners. I cut out the letters with Alphanumeric Bulletin dies from dark brown paper. I adhered the letters to the banners without the frames.

The next step was to make holes in the upper corners of the banners. For this, I used my Crop-A-Dile, Big Bite Punch (We R Memory Keepers).

I also made two banners with heart in the middle. For this, I chose the Heartfelt Bigz die and one of the hearts which has nearly the same heights as the letters.

Love card with The Park die set by Tim Holtz

Hello everyone, I'm here with my second project for our February challenge, Hearts and Flowers. For making this card, I used my first Hearts and Flowers project as inspiration. They are very similar, but of course there are some differences. Here is the new one:

I started by taking a 300 gsm watercolour paper and stamped on it with the rose background stamp. For this, I used embossing ink. Then I heat embossed it with Weathered White embossing powder.

Then I blended Stormy Sky Distress ink onto the surface. 

I cut off the unwanted (not stamped) parts from this rectangle panel. Then I inked the edges with Black Soot Distress ink.

The figures were cut out from thick black cardstock two times. I glued grey paper behind the black figures to cover the open parts.

The text is a quote from Mary Poppins. Mary said this to Bert in the cartoon scene when they were singing the Jolly Holiday song: Gentlemen like you are few. I printed the text using my Dymo Label Maker.

This time, I used only one heart, but this was red to pop out from the background.

I also added a silver strip to the bottom. It was painted with silver paint.

Love you to the moon and back - Tim Holtz moon stencil

Hello everyone, let me show you my Valentine's Day card with one of the Silly Monsters. He is my favourite.

And here is my tutorial.

I took a piece of watercolour paper and with a piece of washi tape I fixed the moon mask on the paper. Then I started to blend Chipped Sapphire Oxide ink onto the top part.

Then I added Ground Espresso to the bottom.

I inked the edges with Black Soot ink.

I spritzed the top part with Brushed Pewter Distress paint. When it was dry, I removed the mask and inked the circle part of my card with Antique Linen Oxide ink and Picket Fence ink.

Then I put the moon stencil on the circle and blended Pumice Stone Oxide ink through the stencil. 

Then I slightly spritzed it with water.

Valentine's Day card with The Park die by Tim Holtz

Hello everyone, I'm here with my first project for our February challenge over at the Country View Challenges, Hearts and Flowers. Be aware that in your project both (flowers and hearts) have to be featured.

To make my card, I took a piece of watercolour paper (300gsm) and stamped the floral background on it. For this, I used embossing ink. Then I sprinkled it with embossing powder (Weathered White) and melted it on with a heat tool. 

Then I blended Distress inks onto the surface. First I added Tumbled Glass (first layer), then Faded Jeans. With this order, the Faded Jeans became lighter than normally.

Then I added Ground Espresso to the edges.

The lady and the gentleman were cut three times from black paper. Usually two layers are enough for me, but this was a thinner paper. I glued grey paper behind the figures to cover the open parts.

The hearts were cut out from the same red paper I used as one of the layers for the card. For this, I used the Falling Heart die.

The text was heat embossed with super fine white embossing powder.

The heart I put in the gentleman's hand is one of the small hearts from the Bigz Heartfelt die set.

Theodore in love

Hello everyone, here is my second inspirational project for the February challenge of the Country View Challenges. The theme is: Splatters, splashes and drips.

For this card, I have made a weathered wooden plank background. I'm sorry, I won't tell you here how I made it, because I've already made and shared with you a similar tutorial. So if you like it, please visit my earlier blogpost.

The only difference, that here I scored the paper more often,  the cover painting was light blue and I splattered with diluted white paint this time.

The strip on the bottom was made with the Sizzix Impresslits die, 3D Star Trim by Tim Holtz. I cut out from 300gsm watercolour paper and coloured Walnut Stain Ranger Distress marker first, then with Tarnished Brass Distress Crayon.

Valentine's Day card with rusty frame

Hello everyone, I would like to show you my rusty Valentine's Day card.

And I start - in medias res - with a tutorial. 

First, I cut out a rectangle panel, then I placed the biggest Stacked Baroque die in the middle and I run it through the Sizzix Big Shot.

Then I added Grit-Paste directly to the surface with a palette knife but then I tapped the whole surface with a piece of sponge to achieve a really textured, a more rough surface.

When it was completely dry, I coloured the surface with the following paints: DecoArt Media Antiquing Cream, Transparent Red Iron Oxide, Quinacridone Gold and Burnt Umber.

I inked the edges with Black Soot Archival ink.

Then I inserted 4 Hex Fasteners to the corners.
