I am a night owl - mixed media canvas with owl

Since I have a dog and a kid this statement isn't about me, I am more an early bird. But luckily there are others, many who are just like this.

Mixed media canvas with a dog

A house is not a home without a dog. Do you agree with this?

As a dog owner it was an old wish to make a picture with dog.

Memory Box Die, Puffy Clouds (98172)

Sizzix greeting card with owl for boys

This owl is so, so cute so today I had to get out the die from the box and I had to run it through the machine a couple of times. On Friday I made girly greeting cards from this die, but today I have made the boyish versions.

If you want to know the how to do, please click here, because I've already explained everything in the blogpost of the girly version.

Sizzix - greeting card with owl

Sizzix - Carte de voeux avec chouette

I received this die yesterday and right after I opened the package I started to create something. I made these cards:

Now I tell you how to do them.

First of all, I searched free papers on internet to download and I can highly recommend you the Mein Lila Park blog where you can find loads of beautiful free printable papers.

From this blog I printed on 200 grammes papers a pink polka dot, a turquoise chevron and a yellow gingham pattern. I put one paper two times to the printer to make a double sided printed papers. I used this one for the body of the owl.

Here you can see the frontside and the back of the owl.

With a large rectangle framelits die I cut out the card and with a one size smaller rectangle die I cut out an overlay.

Around the smaller rectangle I tied a nice ribbon.

Then I attached the smaller to the larger.

To the inside I made a sentiment with a Stampin' Up stamp: "You are a great friend".

I attached the owl with double sided 3D adhesive pads.

How cute it is!

What I used:

white, 200 grammes cardstocks to print on

coloured cardstocks

Tsukineko Memento inkpad (Rose Bud)

Stampin' Up stamp

adhesive

ribbons

pearl

Sizzix greeting card with a dog

On the 24th of May we will celebrate the name-day of my daughter. (Maybe you don't know that we, Hungarians celebrate not just the birthday but the name-day as well.) So for this occasion I have made a greeting card for her.

The dog - who is a little bit like our dog, Rozi - keeps a flower in her mouth. For this I pierced the dog's mouth and I attached the stem (a green raffia) on the back with cello tape.

The center of the flower is felt.

I punched a hole in the corner with Crop-A-Dile. Like this Eszter might hang the card on a hook.

Items I used:

Sizzix Big Shot Machine

Crop-A-Dile Big Bite

Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Alphabet Die - Wanted by Tim Holtz (658554)

Sizzix Movers & Shapers Bigz Die - Dog, Puppy by Dena Designs (657687)

Sizzix Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die Set - Mini Tattered Florals by Tim Holtz (657488)

Distress Stain - antique linen (Tim Holtz)

cardstocks

glue (Pritt Stift, Tacky Glue, cello tape)

green raffia (IKEA)
