Bookmark with an ice skater

I made this tag (or bookmark) for the current colouring challenge of the My Favorite Things blog: Color Challenge 129.

Here is the colour scheme:

I tried the no-line colouring here and I used Copic Sketch markers for colouring the background and the image. In the end, I used a little my Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and my white Gelly Rolls.

For making this bookmark I also used the MFT, Stitched Traditional Tag Die-Namics and the Pure Innocence Ice Skater stamp.

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Ice skates on wood planks

It's already December and we started a new challenge at the Country View Challenges. The theme is - what else could it be? - Christmas.

For this challenge I made a card with the Sizzix Ice Skates dies by Tim Holtz.

For making this card, first I cut out 6 planks from 300gsm watercolour paper with the Sizzix Bigz die, Planks by Tim Holtz.

I painted them with DecoArt Spa Blue paint, then I tapped a little white paint (White Wash) on the surface.

When they were dry I put them into the 3D Lumber Texture Fades folder and run them through my Sizzix Machine.

When I was ready with the texturing, I smudged the planks with Hickory Smoke crayon and inked the edges with Watering Can Archival ink.

I put Mini Fasteners to the sides of the planks.

I also cut out a rectangle from grey cardstock and I blotted with diluted white paint.

Then I adhered the planks to the grey cardstock with foam adhesive tape.

For making the ice skates, I used Tim's instructions.

As for the evergreens... I cut them out from 300 gsm watercolour paper. I put a tiny drop from the Evergreen Bough reinker to a plastic sheet, spritzed with water and I soaked the cutouts in the diluted ink.
The holly leaves were coloured the same way but with Mowed Lawn colour.

When they were dry, I covered them with Ranger Glossy Accents and then sprinkled them with Clear Rock Candy Ranger Distress Glitters.

In the end, I adhered my planks to a grey card base and attached all the elements onto the card.

What I used:

Sizzix Bigz die, Planks by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Bigz die, Ice Skates by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Holiday Greens by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Mini Holiday Greens by Tim Holtz

Ranger Distress crayon (Hickory Smoke)

I hope you like it!!!

Winter card with ice skates by Tim Holtz

I so wanted the Sizzix Ice Skates dies by Tim Holtz but I couldn't buy it in Europe. It's a retired die and it was out of stock everywhere in the European online craft shops I knew.

So I decided to order it from overseas, from the Simon Says Stamp :-) And since the die arrived at me I have made a card:

For this card, I used two inspirations. The first was a card from Emma Williams which is the most wonderful ice skate card ever. And secondly, the tag and tutorial of Tim Holtz where he explains how to paint the skates and how to pull the thread through the slots. I have to admit that I followed the lacing instructions closely.

What I used:

Tim Holtz Snowflakes Layering Stencil (THS050)

Sizzix Bigz die, Ice Skates

Ranger Opaque Matte Texture Paste

Sizzix Thinlits die, Holiday Greens

Sizzix Thinlits die, Mini Holiday Greens

Idea-Ology Long Fasteners

Idea-Ology Jingle Breads

Ranger Distress ink pads (Gathered Twigs, Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Evergreen Bough, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needle)

Ranger Distress Clear Rock Candy Glitter

Ranger Glossy Accents

Idea-Ology, Small Talk Sticker Book Occasions

silver glitter paper

acrylic paints

etc.

With my card, I would like to join the:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Let it snow

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Baby, it's cold outside
