MFT Birdie Brown children around a snow globe

Hello everyone, let me show you one of my projects that I make for a class of students who were taking part in a charity event. This is one of the Hungarian classes of the European School who filled shoe boxes with toys, sweets, hygiene items etc. to send them to Eastern Europe for children in need. One of the mums who organised this action and who collected the boxes asked me to make a big card thanking the children for the participation.

So I made a really big, A4 card.

The text means: To give is a joy!

I coloured the images with Copic Sketch markers. I covered the globe with Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder and the snowflakes were added with white embossing powders.

Silly monster goes on vacation

Hello crafty friends, I'm here with the second inspirational project for the August challenge of the Country View Challenges. The theme is I do like to be beside the seaside and my teamie, the lovely Christine is your hostess.

This happy monster is jumping on his suitcase because at last, he can go on holiday. His destination is one of the islands of the Caribbean sea. He was working a lot all year long and the last months were quite hard for him, you know because of the lockdown and the teleworking. But the time of desperation finished and this is the time to go to a happy place, a nice sandy beach to relax and drinking cocktails.

Now let me see if I can write a tutorial or not.

The globe was covered with Liquid Platinum embossing powder and I put a paper behind which was inked with blue Distress inks (oxides and originals).

The luggage was inked with Mustard Seed Distress ink and spritzed with water. In the end, I smeared Micro Glaze onto the coloured surface to seal them and to give the paper an interesting texture.

The silly monster and the background of the tiny island were coloured with Distress paints. The palm tree and the island were coloured with Distress markers. 

For my favourite monster, (really, from the silly monsters he is my favourite character) I created swimming trunks by cutting off the upper body and the legs of the monster.

Card with a traveller boy

Hello everyone, at last, I'm here again. I have made a card with two of the suitcases I had shared with you last time (here is the link if you need). 

For this card, I used the new colour of the Ranger Distress colour series, the Speckled Egg. It's a wonderful light blue colour. I also used the Tumbled Glass and the Faded Jeans colours, in original and in oxide version. I stencilled my background with Picket Fence Distress paint. For this, I used the Linen stencil (THS061). I splattered the surface with Walnut Stain Spray Stain.

Christmas card for love birds

One of my acquaintances asked me to make a card for her father who has found love again in his eighties. 

This is the Christmas version of my earlier card but here it was important to make the female bird in the same hight as the male bird. Since this female bird stamp looks into the same direction as the male bird, I had to try the mirror stamping to place the female bird and a male bird into a face to face position. This was the first time I tried this technique :-) 

I put their initials on the Christmas hats and a heart over the USA because they will visit the US next year.

Card with globe and Eiffel-tower

One of my friends has seen the text, " together is the best place to be" on my robot card. And I was asked to make a card with the same text for her husband for their wedding anniversary. So after a lot of consultations with my friend I made this card.

For the edge of the second layer and for the globe, I used Liquid Platinum embossing powder from Ranger.

The Eiffel tower was heat embossed with Ranger Vintage Photo (Rust Effect) embossing powder. I repeated the process, so in the end, there are two layers of embossing powder on the Eiffel tower.

Behind the globe, I put a kraft paper which was inked first with Hickory Smoke, then with Black Soot.

I glued the globe on this inked kraft paper then I cut off the excess.

The background paper of the first layer and the little vintage New York picture were in the Graphic 45 Cityscape 8x8" paper pad.

The hearts were cut out from watercolour paper with the Sizzix Bigz Heartfelt die and I added diluted acrylic paints to the surface then spritzed with more water. When it was dry I smeared Antique Linen ink onto the surface. 

I inked the edges of the hearts, the text and the New York picture with Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap.

What else? Oh yes, I smeared a little Titan Buff DecoArt Media paint to the edges of the Graphic 45 paper.

The first layer and the second layer were mounted on a blue card base, then I attached all the other elements, one by one.

A masculine farewell card

Lately, I was asked to make a farewell card for a guy who is originally a history-geography teacher but who is a very skilled cabinetmaker and who often goes to work by bicycle and whose one of the hobbies is photography. And now he is leaving his job.

I had to make a quite big card because 60 people wanted to sign it. So it was an A4 card folded half. 

For the background, I cut out many carpenter tools and I glued them on a thick cardstock which was covered with a layer of gesso after.

Then I painted silver and when it was dry, I smeared diluted black paint on the surface.

Decoupage box with vintage world map

Well, this decoupage box was made for the father from our friends' family. I painted the wooden box brown and glued a vintage world map paper napkin on the lid.

The brand of the napkin is Caspari.
