12 tags of 2016 - Tim Holtz December Tag

Here I am again with another Tim Holtz tag, but right now with my version of the December tag of 12 tags of 2016! Except one tag, I made all Tim's tag this year - so I think I can  pat my shoulder! Well done, me :-)

Some differences between Tim's tag and mine.

1. For making my tag I used one sheet from the set of the Textile Surfaces and not the Textured Surfaces.

2. I hand stitched my tag because my sewing machine is still out of order - I hope Santa will bring me one ;-)

3. After the gold embossing I put some shadowing with black alcohol marker to highlight the letters of 'hello'.

4. And I wanted to show more from my background, because  I love the polka dot pattern and I worked a lot with it :-)

12 tags of 2016 - November - Crazy cat tag

Finally I could make Tim Holtz November Remix Tag.  Nowadays there are just many things to do. But I don't want to complain :-)

For my tag I have chosen just the nature elements from Tim's  Remnant Rubs. So my cat is somewhere out in the open where he is watching the birds and hoping (hope) and believing (believe) to catch one of them. 

On Tim's tag you can see that he made a text with corrugate and cork... and I have to tell you that first I made a text with these materials too but it totally diminished my cat and totally covered my little mushroom in the corner, so I just put it away and used the Big Chit Chat stickers instead.

12 tags of 2016 - Tim Holtz October tag - 2. version with ghosts

Earlier this month I had shown you my tag with a metallic Jack-O-Lantern what I had made as my version of Tim's October tag. In that blogpost you could also see that I had made two bases with crackled patchwork backgrounds. So it was time to use the rest to put together another October tag.

This time I imagined a spooky window frame where ghosts come through.

The window was cut out from chipboard, then I painted dark brown, after I smeared some Picket Fence paint onto the surface and inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.

12 tags of 2016 - October - Tag with Jack-O-Lantern

In the middle of this week I received the ordered Distress Crayons (Set 3) and the Distress Collage Medium Crazing so I could make Tim's October tag. Earlier this month I tried to make this tag with the DecoArt Crackle Glaze but I didn't like that at all!

There are two major differences between the two mediums. The DecoArt Crackle Glaze is shiny, to the contrary the Ranger Crazing is matte when it's dry. The DecoArt Crackle Glaze is rigid, while the Ranger Crazing is flexible after drying.

I want to show you the background of my two tags because I loved them so much! Yes, I have made two, because maybe later I will put together another version of Tim's tag.

12 tags of 2016 - August - Fall tag

Hello everyone! I know I've been silent lately and you could find only those posts I had made in advance for the Country View Challenges but the reason was our one month holiday with my daughter in Hungary. Every year I spend one summer month in Hungary to be with my family because this is the only time I can be with them. 

But now I'm back to Luxembourg for 3 days to reorganize our suitcases because on Saturday we leave for France to spend a 2 weeks holiday with my immediate family (husband-daughter-dog) - hehehe!

So while the washing machine was on and the clothes were drying I have made Tim's August tag. You can find the inspirational original Tim's tag HERE.

12 tags of 2016 - July - Robot tag by Tim Holtz

It's July! The school has been finished  July 1st, so we soon go for a long holiday to Hungary to see the relatives we haven't seen since Easter. This is why I'm ready quite early with my Tim's remix tag whose original version can be found here, on Tim's blog.

I'm very proud of my hand stitches, so I give you some closer look photos :-)

I think you could figure it out that my tag is a boyish birthday  tag (HB2U - Happy Birthday to you) which will be very useful for one of my nephews.

12 tags of 2016 - June - Tag with butterfly duo

Since it has been raining all day long it was time to make my Tim's tag. You can see Tim's original June tag here. And here is mine.

You know (maybe not) that I love to decoupage and it makes me crazy when my paper napkin cutouts get wrinkled but this time I had to create wrinkles :-)

For the tissue wrap collage I used one layer of a paper napkin. I stamped the text from the Papillon stamp set (CMS106) with Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black) to the paper napkin.

(A "tissue wrap collage" technikához egy papírszalvéta egyik rétegét használtam, arra nyomtattam rá a Papillon nyomda egyik szövegét Jet Black Archival tintával.)

From the Textile Surface set I chose the denim colour sheet and I used the Honeycomb layering stencil with Chipped Sapphire and Candied Apple ink pads.

If you often visit my blog you know that I'm a huge coffee fan and coffee addict. But if you just found my blog  - dear crafter - from this information you know it too :-)

This is why I couldn't resist to make a coffee-version of Tim's May tag. Yesterday, I have already shown you my May tag where I could put tattered flowers on the tag despite it was a Halloween tag with a huge skull. But here on this tag I just couldn't find reason to put flowers too. 

After spritzing Walnut Stain on the tag it really seemed to me as I spilled out my coffee to my tag :-D

12 tags of 2016 - May - Tim Holtz Undertaker

Although Tim Holtz used the face of a beautiful lady for making the May tag, I took an utterly opposite direction to make my tag and I chose an ugly face of a skull. I wanted a big face and since the lovely Lady Rose hasn't arrived to me yet, I used the Undertaker stamp set :-)

I think this tag will be very useful on Halloween.

For making flowers for this ugly face seemed to me a weird idea first but after I thought: why not? they are just like "Les Fleurs du Mal" (The flowers of Evil) from Charles Baudelaire.

I've just finished Tim's April tag. This month the main theme was the mosaic technique. If you click here you can see what Tim has created and here you can also find his detailed tutorial.

So with the inspiration of Tim I created this:

Actually I made this for my daughter who is away right now :-( She went to a one week camp with her class to the south of France, 1000 km from here. Before she left she told me to make her a card and because she always takes my Tim's tags from me and takes them to her room I decided to make this April tag especially for her. This is why this tag is girly.

I chose the tea theme deliberately too, since we just came back from London about a week ago.

12 tags of 2016 - March - Easter tag with rabbit

I have to tell you that I really enjoyed making Tim's March tag. It was a remix tag and you can find Tim's original version here.

If you hopped to Tim's blog you can see that it's a kind of Spring tag with two butterflies and flowers behind them. 

Mine is a Spring tag too but rather an Easter tag because I felt it was time to start making Easter cards. Easter is approaching!

12 tags of 2016 - February - Tag for my dad

When I create something I always have to think of someone whom I intend to give my make. I can't create for my drawers, so when I decided to do my version of Tim's February tag I figured out to make it for my dad because he will celebrate his birthday on the 22nd of February.

In the picture you can see my dad as a schoolboy from the 1950'.

The Le Grand Hotel Monte Carlo ephemera has a meaning too... Once he spent a holiday with us at the French Riviera and that time we visited Monte Carlo too :-)

The heart actually is a leftover, I made it for another project but I didn't use it. The heart cutout was covered with music sheet, coloured with Ranger Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass) and the edges with Gathered Twigs - if I remember rightly. Finally I covered with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint (Clear Rock Candy).

I can show you two pictures of my background using the monoprint technique but if you click to Tim's blog you can find every detail how you can make your own February tag.
