Girls in Paris - Tim Holtz paper dolls

Hello everyone, here is my latest project which went straight into my art journal, so with this page I would like to join the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Art Journal. 

For making this page I used one of my earlier project as inspiration. Here you can see my card with the imaginary wedding in Paris. 

I still love Paris and I imagined another scene with girls who visited Paris and sat down on a bench at the foot of the Eiffel Tower and they asked a passer-by to take their picture.

First of all, I cut a rectangle panel from watercolour paper. I stamped the roses to the top edges with embossing ink then heat embossed it with Princess Gold embossing powder. Next I stamped with the Papillon stamp to here and there using Hickory Smoke Archival ink.

Then I blended Antique Linen ink onto the surface. I coloured the roses with Spun Sugar and Twisted Citron markers.

Now, the girls... I put a layer of embossing ink to the part I wanted to emboss it with the glaze. For this, I used embossing pen. The blouse of the girl on the left side was coloured with Salvaged Platina, the dress of the girl in the middle was coloured with Kitsch Flamingo and Broken China, the dress of the girl on right was coloured with Speckled Egg.

The Eiffel Tower was stamped and heat embossed with Black Super Fine embossing powder. Then I blended Antique Linen to the inner parts.

For the butterflies, I used an old Sizzlits die, the Butterfly Frenzy.

Tag - French bulldog in Paris

Hello everyone, I'm here with my second inspirational project for our May challenge over at the Country View Challenges. The theme is: We will always have Paris and the lovely Christine (Crafty Field) will be your hostess.

As you can see to fulfil the requirements of the theme, I used an Eiffel Tower, a French bulldog and the word Paris. 

To make the tag, I used a chipboard and cut out a tag shape with the old and retired but so loved Tag&Bookplates Movers&Shapers Sizzix die. I put a layer of gesso onto the surface and then I painted both sides with Speckled Eggs Distress paint. For the embossed pattern, I used white embossing powder.

I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Archival ink. After this, I toned back a little bit with wet Picket Fence. And when it was dry I first spattered with Picket Fence, then with Gathered Twigs Distress Paint.

The Eiffel Tower was embossed with Potting Soil embossing powder. The dog was coloured with Hickory Smoke Distress marker, the balloon with Twisted Citron.

Tag with Eiffel Tower and a little ballerina

Hello everyone, it's already May and we have a new challenge over at the Country View Challenges. The theme is We will always have Paris and my teamie, Christine aka Crafty Field will be your hostess. 

Well, I created a tag. For making this tag I had an inspiration board on the Pinterest. You can see it here. It's all about Ladurée, a bakery which was founded in 1862, in Paris and their main product is the macaron. Although I don't eat sweets made with sugar, I love the Ladurée style, atmosphere and advertisements. 

I begun my tag with cutting a tag from chipboard with the Sizzix Tag&Bookplate die. First, I added a layer of texture to both sides, then I painted both sides with a mixture of Bundled Sage and a tiny drop of Cracked Pistachio Distress paints.

When it was dry, I blended Dusty Concord Archival ink through a layering stencil (Shifter Stripes). 

I dried it with a heat tool, then I toned back the colours with watered Picket Fence paint.

The little girl was coloured with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Glaze. But first I applied embossing ink on the paper doll using the Distress embossing pen with brush tip. I'm sorry, I have no idea in which Idea-Ology Paper Doll sets you can find this girl, since I have many and I just put all in a big box :-)

The Eiffel Tower was stamped with Distress ink, then I heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine Black embossing powder.

For the balloons, I used two die sets, the Circle Play for the twines and the Birthday (Sizzix Side Order) for the balloons.

The gold branches on the top are in the Funky Florals 2 set, and I heat embossed them with Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder.

Mademoiselle à Paris

I have made this card for my daughter's friend. Soon, she will have a birthday. 

This birthday girl goes to the same French class as my daughter and her favourite colour is orange red.

Card - Paris skyline by MFT

Here is the daytime version of my Paris by night card.

Here the background is not inked but painted with acrylic paints (DecoArt).

The balloons were coloured with Copic Sketch markers.

Card - Paris by night

While I was making this card I was definitely in the flow. Just everything was perfect during the process and I was very pleased with the final result.

Here are the Distress inks that I used for the background:

Then I spritzed with water, after drying I spattered with watered white acrylic paint.

The balloons were coloured with Copic Sketch markers.

Mixed media board of travelling - Rome, Paris, London - On your travel

I am so happy!!! I have a great news to tell you, I got a position on the designer team of Country View Challenge blog. Yeah! 

In May there was a DT Call and I applied for it, and here we are, now I am a designer team member with other two talented crafters! I can't believe it!

I am especially glad for two reasons. I don't know who made the final decision of the new members but in my case they didn't care that 1. I have never been designer team member before and 2. I am Hungarian who speaks (and writes) the English terribly :-D 

So thank you for these!

On the blog of the CVC they will introduce us today so I had to write a biography and I had to make a project on the theme of "On your travels". If you would like to join this challenge, just click here and link your card, mixed media canvas, embellished box etc.

But me, I have made this:

For this I took an old chalk board which was in the attic among the junk. I sanded with a sandpaper I wiped off with a wet cloth.

When it was dry I gessoed with one layer, then I put a layer of modelling paste too. I tapped the modelling paste onto the board with a sponge because I didn't want a smooth surface. 

I stamped Tim's cities (Rome, Paris and London) to a printing paper.

After I tore off the unwanted parts. 

With decoupage glue I added three torn book pages on the surface of the board.

I painted the board with acrylic paint, in the end I tapped the paint with a sponge.

The yellow area is made for Luxembourg where we can make our trip to Paris and other cities. I cut out the shorten name of Luxembourg with Tim's letter die.

I always put the new elements on the board (without gluing) to see how it looked like.

I cut out the vehicles and the arrows.

Then a new try:

With this label die I cut out the stamped addresses of Paris and London.

I painted the letters of LUX to the colours of the Luxembourgish flag. To make the colours of the flag I covered the middle area of LUX with a white paper and painted the top and the bottom part.

I stamped the postcard image directly to the painted board.

I coloured the edges of the torn papers with Distress ink (Tea Dye).

I also spritzed the arrows with Distress Spray Stain (Brushed Pewter).

I cut out the letters of ROME with Tim's die but I wanted to use this as a stencil, so I placed the letters properly and after I fixed them with a cello tape.

I placed my special stencil on the board and I applied green acrylic paint.

I glued the papers of the stamped cities with decoupage glue.

I coloured the cardstocks of the stamped addresses with Distress Markers (Chipped Sapphire and Festive Berries) but I used a wet brush immediately. 

I used these two Distress markers to paint colour the hot air balloon.

I gave Distress Crackle Paint on some parts of the board and acrylic medium onto the other parts.

With this board I would like to enter to the challenge of A Vintage Journey: Destinations.
