Sexy old goat - Card with a hipster by Tim Holtz

He is sexy, indeed, in his straw hat, red glasses and polka dot shirt. Not to mention the grass stem in his mouth :-)

So whenever I looked at him this silly refrain came to me every time: I'm sexy and I know it... I'm hopeless, I know :-)

Actually, this card was made for the May challenge of the Country View Challenges - Be humorous! - and this time I will be your hostess :-)

So please use funny and/or crazy images with funny and/or crazy texts! I also appreciate the puns! Please surprise us and make the CVC team laugh!

What I used:

Stampers Anonymous, Hipster by Tim Holtz (CMS288)

Stampers Anonymous, Crazy Things by Tim Holtz (CMS237)

Sizzix Bigz Die, Village Surf Shack by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits Die, Stitched Ovals by Tim Holtz

First Edition papers (Floral Fusion 8x8", Pretty Posy 8x8")

Ranger Distress markers

Ranger Distress ink pads (Antique Linen, Vintage Photo)

Ranger Archival ink pads (Potting Soil, Jet Black)

Now it's your turn, so if you have a fun project, please don't hesitate to join our May challenge where you can win a £20 voucher!

Hipsters à la pop art

Here I am again with a bunch of Hipster cards that I prepared in Andy Warhol's pop art style. Actually my inspiration was the Che Guevara portrait which is not Andy Warhol's own creation, it's a fraud of Gerard Malanga but I hope it doesn't bother Tim Holtz hipsters - hahaha!

And now I will show you them one by one and tell you the Ranger Distress colour combinations I used.

Chipped Sapphire, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade

Carved Pumpkin, Scattered Straw, Twisted Citron

Wilted Violet, Tumbled Glass, Carved Pumpkin

Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass

Candied Apple, Spun Sugar, Faded Jeans

It was a great fun to find out which figure gets which colour combination and to figure out the best text for them :-) My favourite is the monkey, I can see the contempt in his look while he thinks: Oh my god! This person is really dumb!

And the donkey of course, who laughs inwardly, cynically!

I hope you like them! Happy crafting! And thanks for visiting!

Tim Holtz Hipster stamp - Framed chimp

On the Monday Challenge of the Simon Says Stamp blog right now there's a challenge called: It's a frame up! - and as you see I couldn't resist it.

So I made this:

For the humorous text I have to say thanks to my lovely daughter. It was her who helped me out when yesterday I told her what I was doing and I was struggling to find a great text. I wanted a king's name or something... but in the end it was Eszter who told me: Henry the hairy :-) It was just brilliant!

What is so special in Eszter that she speaks not just Hungarian and French but the English as well! And she is just 11!

As for the background...

I used Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bow and Tumbled Glass to make the background and I stamped the damask motifs with Faded Jeans. I wanted to make and old wall paper.

With Vintage Photo I inked not just the edges but here and there too.

I cut out the frame from chipboard, painted brown and left it to dry. After I randomly dabbed with a sponge and with Vintage Photo and sprinkled with Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder. I wanted to achieve a worn and distressed gold frame.

The text was stamped with Lawn Fawn letters and Ranger Archival Potting Soil stamp. The edges were distressed with a scissors and inked with Vintage Photo. I used double sided foam tape to attach to the card.

What I used:

Ranger Archival ink, Potting Soil

Ranger embossing powder, Gold Tinsel

double-sided foam tape (about 2mm thick)

I hope you like it! Happy crafting!
