Birthday card with Trick or Treater boy by Tim Holtz

Hello everyone, Let me show you my latest make, a birthday card that I created for one of my nephews. He turns 14 in November but I had to make his card earlier so that I could give him personally. 

The background.

I chose a watercolour paper and coloured with a cream colour acrylic paint, then spritzed with wet brown paint. For this I used a thick but strong bristle paint brush because I wanted tiny drops. Then I repeated the same procedure with white paint. I inked the edges with a brown Distress Archival ink. I also glued some stars and dots to the background. For the stars, I used the  Celebrate Colorize set (666285) and gold metallic paper from the Idea-Ology Kraft Paper 8x8" paper pad. I used the same paper for the dots, but the Sizzix Sidekick Side-Order die, Birthday by Tim Holtz (662703).

The boy

The boy figure is in the Trick or Treater Sizzix Thinlits die set (664751). I cut out the basic pieces of the boy from Neenah Solar White paper. Then I painted the head and the hair with Copic Sketch markers. Then I cut out the corpus from a heavyweight brown paper and I glued together the Neenah and the brown paper. For his clothes (sweater, pants, boots) I just used coloured paper.

The party hat

This hat is part of the Trick or Treater set. But I glued a tassel behind the hat. And the tassel is also part of the Celebrate, Colorize Sizzix set. I used the same colored papers as for the boy's sweater. 

The banner, the balloon 

These are also parts of the Colorize, Celebrate die set. The ballon was coloured with Distress inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed). And as you can see, I used blue and red paper for the decorations too.

The text

The text is part of the MFT Stamps, Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set. 

Graduation card with Road Trip die by Tim Holtz

This will be a special blog post for me. Not just because I'm hosting the May challenge of the Country View Challenges, but also because I'm saying goodbye to the CVC team. This and my second inspirational project will be the last ones I do for the CVC. It was a fabulous 8 years in my life and the CVC team was a fantastic team. Thank you for letting me be part of the team. 

So the May challenge theme is Vehicle and my first card was made for my handsome nephew who is graduating from primary school. In Hungary, kids usually leave primary school at the age of 14 and start secondary school.

And here is my tutorial. 

The background was created with Distress paints. The bottom part was made with Hickory Smoke paint. For the upper part I used Stormy Sky with a hint of Cracked Pistachio.

The pine tree was coloured with Distress inks, Rustic Wilderness and Mowed Lawn.

For the traffic sign, I took a 300 gsm watercolour paper and an old Sizzix embossing folder by Tim Holtz, the Woodgrain (656644). I inked the embossing folder inside with Walnut Stain, then embossed the paper. Here I got a paper with nice woodgrain pattern. I spritzed with water and spread the brown ink everywhere. Of course the deeper brown remained in the recesses. But I wanted to stamp on it, so I ran it through the Sizzix machine again with all the plates and make it flat. 

The sun and the clouds are from old and retired My Favorite Things die sets. These had the perfect size for this scene. But I cut out the eyes and mouth with the Sizzix Circle Play die set. The sun was coloured with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed. The edge of the clouds were inked with Iced Spruce. 

The two largest parts of the car were painted with paints but I mixed colours, so I don't give you an exact recipe. All the other parts were just cardstock papers.

Bookmark with Little Buddies by MFT - pencil colouring

Hello everyone, here is my entry to the MFT Stamps current colour challenge, the Color Challenge 184. I stamped the images with Tsukineko Memento Espresso Truffle stamp onto Neenah Desert Storm paper. I coloured the images with Polychromos pencils, except the skin, because I used Copic Sketch markers for those parts.

Card with a traveller boy

Hello everyone, at last, I'm here again. I have made a card with two of the suitcases I had shared with you last time (here is the link if you need). 

For this card, I used the new colour of the Ranger Distress colour series, the Speckled Egg. It's a wonderful light blue colour. I also used the Tumbled Glass and the Faded Jeans colours, in original and in oxide version. I stencilled my background with Picket Fence Distress paint. For this, I used the Linen stencil (THS061). I splattered the surface with Walnut Stain Spray Stain.

I think we can all agree that it's only a matter of time when this little boy, you and I can travel again. But right now I'm not even sure I can visit my family in Hungary this summer or to travel anywhere else. I also had to cancel my Easter trip to Hungary and Italy and my May trip to Dieppe (France). But I think I'm not alone and we all wait the possibility of safe travelling.

The suitcases were coloured with Distress inks, original and oxide as well. I spritzed them with water and when they were dry I rubbed them with Micro Glaze.

After the stencilling and when my bricks were completely dry, I painted with acrylic paints, brick by brick. I know it sounds silly, but I love how it turned out. I wanted to create something similar to the wall of the 9 3/4 platform at King's Cross Station (Harry Potter).

Bookmark with a little boy and his dogs

Today I have brought you a bookmark. We are big bookmark consumers, so when I finish a bookmark immediately someone from my family wants it for himself/herself.

Tag with chemist

When one of my friends saw my bookmark with the chemist, she asked me to make another one for her son who has blond hair. So I did one.

Here the chalkboard and the ground was cut out from black and beige cardstocks. The chemistry formulas were heat embossed with fine white embossing powder.

Christmas card with a little boy, a Christmas tree and an angel #2

Here is the pair of my earlier card. This one is for my other nephew, for the blond one.

I did some minor alterations from the earlier one because the boys insist on equality in every way :-)

There's only one difference, here I used the MFT Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set and left out the Make Yourself At Home stamp set.

Christmas card with a little boy, a Christmas tree and an angel

I'm ready with the Christmas card for one of my nephews. My nephew, Zsiga, has brown hair, has a brown dog, a grey cat and in his family, the Angels bring the Christmas presents. I also wanted to imitate the tile floor in their living room :-)

Card with blond football player boy

As I've already told you I have nephews, so I get many inspirations from them to make boyish cards or decorations. A few month ago I've already made a card with the Penny Black Way cool! stamp set, so it was time to make another card with another soccer player but with blond hair in Barca dress of course.

One of my classmates from the high school became a vet. During the summer when we are in our hometown we often visit him with our dog, Rozi.

He was the vet who spayed Rozi, who every summer gives her the vaccinations and who cured her from an ear infection this summer. And sometimes he doesn't ask any money for the treatment, like this summer, although he vaccinated her and gave us medicine! He absolutely refused my money when I wanted to pay! 

So I decided to make something them, something that I can give him and his family.

First of all I have made two boxes for his sons, Misu and Zéti.

For these boxes I used the MFT Super Boy stamp which is unfortunately not available right now (maybe discontinued).

For this project I used wooden boxes and painted them with acrylic paints. The stamped images were heat embossed.

I hope they will like it! And now I'm planning something for my hero vet!

Card with Penny Black Summer Love stamp

For this card I used the Penny Black Summer Love stamp and it was not the first time (and I'm sure not the last). Because this little boy and girl are so adorable!

Nowadays I make many watercolour cards, it's because my craft room, actually the whole attic is under construction (changing window, parquet flooring, painting...) so my crafting tools are packed and I have just a few things around me. Here is a picture about the renovation.

But it will be super after all! And I hope I get back everything for the weekend!

And again a card with a Penny Black stamp. Actually it's because I try to organise and tidy my crafting room. And during this process I decided to pull of the rubber stamps from the wood blocks and glue them to stamp foams so I can use them with my MISTI stamping tool :-)
