Name-day card with Minnie Mouse

Hello everyone, today I would like to show you a name-day card that I created for my friend, Dóra. I placed Minnie Mouse to the centre which is part of the Spellbinders Classic Mouse, Steamboat Wille Duo set.

The background

I took a piece of watercolour paper (300 gsm) and painted with cream colour acrylic paint. When it was dry, I spritzed with gold paint. I inked the edges with brown Archival ink (Vintage Photo).

Minnie

I cut the basic pieces from black paper. Her face was cut out from Neenah Solar White paper and coloured with Copic Sketch markers. The bow and skirt were coloured with Copic Sketch markers. Then I added tiny dots with a white gel pen. Oh, I almost forgot, Minnie's bow is a Tim Holtz die, from the Tailored die set (666289).

The banner

For this I used an old MFT Die-Namics die, Bitty Banner Alphabet. When I assembled the banner, then I pulled a grey embroidery thread through the holes.  I put liquid glue on the tops of the yellow banners and glued them to the top of the background paper. I secured the end of my thread to the back of the background paper with Scotch Tape.

The gold pieces

I took a paper and coloured with the same gold I spritzed the background paper. Then I cut out a tiny oval, using the Sizzix Framelits die, Oval (657563). For the tiny stars, I used Sizzix Thinlits die, Festive Things (664191) by Tim Holtz.

The back of the card

To the back of the card I wrote a text which means: I wish you a happy name-day. I cut out the letters with Sizzix Thinlits die, Vault Hippity Hop (666562)
