Halloween card with haunted house

Here are my second pieces for our October challenge - ALL THINGS SPOOKY - which was chosen by the very talented Corrie.

I made two cards because accidentally I made a mistake on my first card. I glued something somewhere I didn't want to and when I tried to remove the unwanted element my cover paper was ruined. So I wanted to throw it away, and I started another card with nearly the same process.

But later I decided to save my first card covering with a big pumpkin (drawn and cut out by myself) and to be honest I love the first one more than the second so I'm happy to keep it after all.

These cards are very specials for another reason too... These cards were made only with cut-outs and no stamps at all! I didn't do it deliberately, it just happened with my cards.

So here is the version 1 which nearly went to the trash:

And the version 2:

Now I will tell you a detailed description how I made these cards.

You will need 3 squares, a big one, a folded one for the card base (14x14 cm) and two, one size smaller to cover the card. The orange goes inside, the white is outside for inking and decorating.

After the inking the white one looked like this you can see bellow in the picture, and for achieving this I used the following Ranger Distress inks: Iced Spruce, Weathered Wood, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain, Squeezed Lemonade.

For the moon, I inked a yellow area and then I covered it with a circle die-cut, in the end I smeared a little bit the too sharp edges of the moon.

I cut out the Rickety House (656925) with Tim Holtz Sizzix die and embossed it with Tim's Stripes Embossing Folder (657849). Then I coloured it with Iced Spruce, Weathered Wood and Walnut Stain.

I used Tim's Halloween Shadows Strip Die (658253) to cut out the bats, the pumpkins and the children.

For the tree I used Tim's Branch Tree (656929) but the Bird Branch (657833) can be good too (version 1).

The cross was cut out with a Movers&Shapers Die, with Mini Ornate Crosses (658247). I coloured with Pumice Stone Distress Marker, inked the edges with Walnut Stain, then covered with a layer of Crackle Glaze of DecoArt.

In my picture you can see the crackle glaze before drying.

For the number and the text I used Die-Namics Negative Dot, Alphabet and Numbers.

I adhered only the crosses, the pumpkins and the children with double sided foam pads to the cards because I didn't want too much 3D elements. Like this I can put them in envelopes without any difficulty to send them to someone specials.
