Blue and gold thank you card with a large butterfly

I'm here with the first project for the July challenge of the Country View Challenges. This month the lovely Corrie will be your hostess, she chose the theme: Blues and Greens. This time I picked only the blues and made a thank you card.

First of all, I took a 300gsm watercolour paper and stamped one of the background stamps from the Vines&Roses stamp set by Tim Holtz (CMS298) on it. For the stamping, I used the Ranger Distress ink pad (Weathered Wood) and then I heat embossed with Ranger Sky Blue embossing powder by Wendy Vecchi.

This embossed rectangle was daubed with diluted Antique Linen ink, then the edges were inked with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs inks.

For making the butterfly, I chose the Perspective stamp set by Tim Holtz (CMS213). I stamped the butterfly on watercolour paper with Antique Linen ink, then I heat embossed with Ranger Gold embossing powder. I fussy cut the butterfly then coloured with Ranger Distress markers (Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans).

The text is from the Simple Sayings stamp set by Tim Holtz and stamped with Ranger Archival ink (Potting Soil).

For the second layer of my card, I created a gold embossed rectangle but I only heat embossed the edges of this layer.

I hope you like it and if you have a project with blues and greens, please don't hesitate to join our July challenge where you can win a £20 voucher!

With my card, I would like to join the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything goes.
