Birthday card with funky florals by Tim Holtz

Since there are two birthdays in the family in October, I decided to make a birthday card for the October challenge of the Country View Challenges. The theme is Plantastic and the lovely Rachel will be your hostess.

I covered with the mixture of DecoArt Light Buttermilk and Spa Blue a 300gsm mixed media paper.

For the background pattern, I used Tim Holtz latest stamp set, the Craze and Planks and the Ranger Archival Watering Can ink pad.

Inked the edges with the same ink, then I toned back with diluted Light Buttermilk paint.

When it was dry, I spattered the surface with Light Buttermilk paint.

For the flowers, I used the two Sizzix Thinlits sets, the Funky Floral #1 set and the Garden Greens.

I chose two cardstocks (a light yellow and a light rose) that I fished out from the mess on my desk and inked the edges with Tattered Rose ink.

Then I adhered the leaves and flowers to the card.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Funky Florals #1 by Tim Holtz (662700)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Garden Greens by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Handwritten Celebrate by Tim Holtz (660215)

Stampers Anonymous, Craze and Plank by Tim Holtz (CMS344)

Idea-Ology Stickers, Big Chat by Tim Holtz

Ranger Archival ink, Watering Can

DecoArt Americana acrylic paints (Light Buttermilk, Spa Blue)

If you have a project which fits our October challenge, please don't hesitate to join. You can win a £20 voucher!
