Birthday card - you are still a chick

It's August and we have a new challenge over at the Country View Challenges. And I'm so happy that this month I can be the host go the challenge and I was the one who chose the theme, Happy Birthday. You can join this challenge with birthday cards or gifts.

Now let me show you the card that I made for my friend who became 50 years old at the beginning of June.

And if you like this card, please stay with me, because I tell you how I made it.

I took a 300 gsm watercolour paper and blended Dusty Concord Distress ink onto the surface.

Then I blended Wilted Violet through the Linen stencil.

I inked the edges with Black Soot ink.

I put a little white acrylic paint on a plastic sheet and diluted with some water. Then I took a piece of sponge and dabbed the white paint onto the surface.

When it was dry, I spattered the panel with silver acrylic paint.

The chicken was coloured with Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade. I inked the edges with one of the brown inks.

The number was cut out from thicker paper twice and I glued them together. I painted with Hickory Smoke paint and inked the edges with Black Soot Archival ink.

For the banner, I used leftover patterned papers.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Papercut Chicks Colorize (665854)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Bunny Games (665850)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower (664407)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Countdown (665367)

Stampers Anonymous, Linen layering stencil (THS061)

Ranger Distress ink pads (Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord, Black Soot, Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Gathered Twigs)

Ranger Distress paint (Hickory Smoke, Picket Fence)

Schmincke Acryl Bronze, Silver paint

So if you have a birthday project, please don't hesitate to join our August challenge where a randomly selected winner can have a £20 voucher in the Country View Craft Shop.

With my card, I would like to join the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Happy Birthday!

Amazing card, dear Monika! I love the sentiment with the little chicken. The diluted white paint sponged on the background makes the colour really shine!
