Birthday card - you are still a chick

It's August and we have a new challenge over at the Country View Challenges. And I'm so happy that this month I can be the host go the challenge and I was the one who chose the theme, Happy Birthday. You can join this challenge with birthday cards or gifts.

Now let me show you the card that I made for my friend who became 50 years old at the beginning of June.

I took a 300 gsm watercolour paper and blended Dusty Concord Distress ink onto the surface. 

Then I blended Wilted Violet through the Linen stencil.

I inked the edges with Black Soot ink.

I put a little white acrylic paint on a plastic sheet and diluted with some water. Then I took a piece of sponge and dabbed the white paint onto the surface.

When it was dry, I spattered the panel with silver acrylic paint.

The chicken was coloured with Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade. I inked the edges with one of the brown inks.

The number was cut out from thicker paper twice and I glued them together. I painted with Hickory Smoke paint and inked the edges with Black Soot Archival ink.

For the banner, I used leftover patterned papers.
