Elegant birthday card with cake

Hello everyone, I'm here with the second project that I made for the August challenge of Country View Challenges. And this month the theme is Happy Birthday where we welcome birthday cards and/or gifts.

Here is my birthday card that I created for a 80 years old lady. And for this card I used one of my earlier cards as an inspiration, this one.

If you click on the clickable word you can see how I made the background with Vintage Pearl embossing powder and the Vines&Roses stamp set (CMS298). But here I used a nice taupe colour as a background layer and I also used that taupe paper for the cake stand and for the number.

The candles were cut out with an old and retired Sizzix Framleits die set, Happy Birthday Step-Ups by Stephanie Barnard (660142).

The cake is a also Sizzix die, Layered Cake Bigz die by Brenda Walton (658357) but I rounded the upper edges.

For the number I used Tim Holtz Alphanumeric 3/4" Tall die set (660056).

So if you have a birthday project, please don't hesitate to join our August challenge where a randomly selected winner can have a £20 voucher in the Country View Craft Shop.

With my card, I would like to join the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Happy Birthday!
