Hello everyone, here is my first make for the August challenge of the Country View Challenges. The theme is Monochromatic, so I chose the shades of grey.
And here is the tutorial.
First, I cut out a tag with my old and beloved die, the Sizzix Movers&Shapers Tag&Bookplates die from 300 gsm watercolour paper.
Then I painted grey with a mixture of Distress paints (Hickory Smoke, Picket Fence, Pumice Stone).
Then I cut out stars from the same watercolour paper. For this, I used the Stacked Stars and Crescent Moon&Stars Sizzix Bigz dies. I painted them darker or lighter grey than the tag. Some of them got extra texture or embellishment.
Next step was to ink the edges of the tag with Black Soot Archival ink and then I glued the stars and the text to the surface. I covered the text with a paper, then I spattered the tag with silver Distress paint (Brushed Pewter).
In this picture you can see what are the extras I added for some stars.
What I used:
Sizzix Movers&Shapers die, Tag&Bookplates
Sizzix Bigz die, Stacked Stars
Sizzix Bigz die, Crescent Moon&Stars
Sizzix Texture Fades (Diamond Plate, Riveted Metal)
Stampers Anonymous, Tiny Text
Ranger Distress paints (Black Soot, Hickory Smoke, Picket Fence, Pumice Stone, Brushed Pewter)
Ranger Grit-Paste
Ranger embossing powder (silver)
Ranger Archival ink (Black Soot)
