Birthday card with bird on a wooden bucket

My mom's birthday isn't until October but I've already made her card because I don't know when I'll have time to create something due to teaching.

My parents live in a house with a garden, and they always put out food and water for the birds. They like watching them.  So, this card is about a bird landing in their garden to drink water.

If you like it, here comes the tutorial.

First the bucket.

For this, I used the Sizzix Bigz, Potted (664184) die. I cut out twice the pot and the parts of the hoop.

Then I drew four lines vertically on the bucket. Then I cut it into pieces along the lines.

I placed the five pieces to the Sizzix Lumber, 3D embossing folder (662718). I ran the embossing folder through the Sizzix machine.

Then I coloured the embossed papers with brown inks (Gathered Twigs and Pumice Stones). I coloured the bucket which remained in one. And then I started to glue the pieces to the bucket.

Then I painted silver the hoops with Brushed Pewter Distress paint. When the hoops were dry I inked the edges with Black Soot Archival ink.

I put two fasteners (Idea-Ology Mini Fasteners) to the holes and I attached the hoops to the buckets with strong glue.

Now the bird.

For the bird, I used the Feathered Friends, Sizzix Thinlits die (664433). I cut out the bird from 300gsm watercolour paper and I coloured with the following Distress inks (normal and oxide): Stormy Sky Oxide, Faded Jeans Oxide, Faded Jeans, Prize Ribbon, Ground Espresso, Vintage Photo.

And the background.

I stamped the Flourish background stamp (Stampers Anonymous, Lattice&Flourish CMS257) to a piece of watercolour paper with embossing ink. And heat embossed with Ranger Silver Pearl embossing powder.

I placed a piece of real twig to the bottom of the card and I glued a thin strip of moss on top of it.

I also placed a few tiny hearts to the card. For this, I used a paper that I coloured previously, so I don't remember what kind of inks I used. But I cut out the hearts with Falling Hearts Thinlits die (664415).

The text was stamped with an MFT stamp (Bitty Birthday Wishes).

With my card, I would like to join the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Stamp it.

Masculine birthday tag with a gentleman silhouette

Hello everyone, I'm here with a masculine birthday tag that I created for my husband who just turned 52. For this, I used the gentleman of the Sizzix, The Park die set by Tim Holtz (665204).

I cut out a tag shape with Sizzix Bigz die, Tag&Bookplates (656938) from white paper, then I blended Speckled Eggs and Tumbled Glass Distress inks to the surface. I added Frayed Burlap to the edges.

I cut out the gentlemen twice from black paper then I glued them together.

For the balloon, I used white paper and the Sizzix Celebrate Colorize die set by Tim Holtz (666285). I coloured with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress inks.

The numbers were cut out with the Sizzix Alphanumeric Label die (664177) from black paper.

For the stars, I used again the Celebrate Colorize set and gold metallic paper from the Idea-Ology Kraft Paper 8x8" paper pad.

I used the same paper for the dots, but the Sizzix Sidekick Side-Order die, Birthday by Tim Holtz (662703).

The text is part of the My Favorite Things, Essential Sentiments stamp set. I heat embossed with Ranger fine white embossing powder on back paper.

The final touch was adding a gold ribbon to the hole.

Wedding card with The Park die set

After 20 years of being together and having two children, my sister and her partner decided to get married. So it was really just formality. There was no ceremony, but we family members were very happy nonetheless. And of course, I made a special, personalised card for them.

For the background, I used one of my favourite background stamps, the Stampers Anonymous, Vines and Roses (CMS298). I heat embossed with Ranger Vintage Pearl embossing powder.

The lady and the gentleman were cut out from thick brown paper twice but I also added a layer of brown paint to the top. They are from Sizzix Thinlits die set, The Park by Tim Holtz (665204).

The balloon is part of the Celebrate Colorize die set (666285). Also from Sizzix, Tim Holtz.

The letters on the balloon are from the Sizzix Thinlits die, Alphanumeric Label (664177). The plus sign is the smallest star of the previously mentioned Celebrate die set.

The date is written according to Hungarian custom, we start with the year. And I used the Alphanumeric Label die again.

But where are the hearts from? Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure what I ended up choosing. The larger heart, if I'm not mistaken, is the smallest piece of the Stacked Tiles, Hearts die set (665858). But the smallest?

The text is from MFT Stamps, Essentials Sentiments stamp set. I used super fine white embossing powder on brown paper.

Birthday card with Gladys - You are a star

Hello everyone, I'm here with a card that I made for my friend who likes to sing and who still improves her voice. Actually, it's her birthday card because she is a real star.

First, I took a watercolour paper and I started to blend different blue and turquoise colours using Distress inks. I started with Tumbled Glass, then Broken China and Peacock Feathers. In the end I added Uncharted Mariner to the edges.

The pieces of Gladys were cut out from white watercolour paper too and I painted them with Distress paints like Saltwater Taffy, Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw.

The curtain is an MFT (Die-Namics) die, called Take The Stage. I cut the pieces from watercolour paper and coloured with Distress inks: Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey.

The text also from MFT, the name of the stamp set is: Friendship Rocks. I heat embossed with a gold embossing powder from the Ranger Ink.

I coloured a piece of paper with gold paint and when it was dry I cut out a few tiny stars to decorate the background with them. I think I used the MFT (Die-Namics) Stars In The Sky background die.

Golden medal for a half marathon runner

My friend's daughter, Emma, ran her first half marathon. My friend was naturally very proud of her, and so was I. As a former half marathon runner, I know how much work and preparation goes into a half marathon.

However, when she registered for the marathon, there were only places left that didn't come with a medal. This is why, my friend asked me to make a medal for Emma. I was happy to do so.

The marathon took place in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.

I cut out a circle from thick paper four times. For this I used the biggest circle die from the Sizzix Framelits die, Circle (657551). For the bow/suspension ring I used Tim Holtz Pocket Watch Bigz die (658571). I cut the bow twice.

For the letters I used a My Favorite Things die, Captions Alphabet and Numbers. I cut the letters and numbers twice to give a dimension for the text.

Since there was a big empty space at the top and bottom, I placed leaves there to make it look like an Olympic medal. For this I used again a My Favorite Things die, Grand Greenery.

I also made a tiny cup for her. And for this, I used the Mini Trophy Movers and Shapers Sizzix die by Tim Holtz (659444). To this cup I put a number 1 and a star. The number is part of the Sizzix Alphanumeric 3/4" (660056) Thinlits die set and the star was part of the Crescent Moon&Stars Bigz die set (658716).

Then I painted them gold and put a blue satin ribbon through the suspension ring.

Luckily, Emma really liked it.

Birthday card for a 16-year-old girl

Hello everyone, I'm here again with a birthday card that I made for a 16 years old girl. The main character of this card is called Whimsy Girl and I bought the stamp a long time ago.

I stamped the girl on Neenah Solar White paper with Tsukineko Memento ink (Espresso Truffle) and coloured with Copic Sketch markers. I stamped dots on her dress because there are no dots on the original version.

In the end, I coloured the image with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. The dots were coloured with silver paint.

The background was made with a Stampers Anonymous Stamp set, Dots and Floral (CMS220) by Tim Holtz. I stamped the dots with embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I smeared Picked Raspberry ink to the surface. I inked the edges with Pumice Stone ink.

For the balloon, I used the Stampers Anonymous Crazy Things stamp set (CMS237). I stamped and coloured the same way as the little girl. The only thing worth mentioning here is that I stamped numbers into the balloon. For this, I used a Lawn Fawn stamp set, Milo's ABC.

For the text, I used Tiny Text (CMS394) and stamped on the same paper I used under the dotted background. Again I used white embossing powder.

Thank you card with spring colours

I know it's been a long time since I last posted something here. I really haven't had time to create lately, teaching has been taking up so much of my time. But here I am with this spring thank you card.

This card is started with the background, but I didn't do it now, I have found it by accident. The yellow stripes were darker so I muted the colour with diluted white paint. Then I spritzed with brown paint and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Archival ink.

For the flowers and leaves I used two Sizzix die sets: Brushstroke Flowers 2 (665210) and Bloom Colorize (665208). I painted them with acrylic paints. The green was a mixture but the pink was Spun Sugar and maybe I added some white.

The text was cut out from dark brown paper with Sizzix Handwritten Celebrate Thinlits die (660215).

Tags with plaid backgrounds

About 10 days ago I posted a tag with a plaid background. And since I really liked that background, I decided to make more. So I made 6 different background with. I really enjoyed mixing the colours and creating my own plaid backgrounds. First I show you the tags then I give you a tutorial.

Well, here is the tutorial.

I cut out the three layers of the Sizzix Layered Plaid die set from different colours. Sometimes I didn't use one of the cut out layers because I didn't find that colour good enough for the other two.  Here you can see the layers before gluing them together.

Then I glued them together.

Then I cut out the tag shape from these background panels. I added white paint to the edges.

I also spritzed them with white paint.

The cookie forms are made the same way like here. But this time I used not just the gingerbread men but more shapes.

For the Fa-la-la-la-la text I used the Holiday Drawings stamp set. I also stamped on the back sides. For those texts, I used the Bold Tidings Mini stamp set.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Fresh Baked 1 by Tim Holtz (663100)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Fresh Baked 2 by Tim Holtz (663116)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Layered Plaid by Tim Holtz (666068)

Stampers Anonymous, Bold Tidings Mini (CMS440)

Stampers Anonymous, Holiday Drawings (CMS284)

Ranger Distress ink (Vintage Photo)

Ranger embossing powder (white super fine)

etc.

With my tags, I would like to join the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Use dies in DieCember
