Christmas card with MFT Jingle All The Way stamp - Santa on the roof

Hello everyone, I would like to show you my Christmas card that  I made for the MFT Card Design Superstar Contest in the Coloring Virtuoso Category.

I wanted to create a night before Christmas scene with Santa on the roof. He is just checking his list before delivering the presents to the children in that household.

For manking this scene, I mixed the Jingle All The Way stamp set with the Shout It From The Rooftops.  First I stamped Santa and the reindeer, then I used masking sheet to cover them, then I stamped the roof. I created the moon and the clouds by myself with Copic Sketch markers. Here you can see the process photos.

What I used:

MFT Stamps, BB Jingle All The Way stamp set

MFT Stamps, YUZU Shout It From The Rooftops stamp set

Copic Sketch markers

masking sheets

etc.

Black and white card - Village Christmastime by Tim Holtz

I really don't want to jinx it but the special DieCember Santa die set, the fruit of Tim Holtz and Simon Says Stamp collaboration is on its way to me. And hopefully it will arrive. This new die set is called Dash Away All.

In the meantime, I made a card using the older and bigger version of the Dash Away All set, the Village Christmastime.

This is a black and white slimline card and is made as follows.

I cut out the Santa two times and glued the two cut-outs together.

I cut out a slimline card panel from watercolour paper (300 gsm) and blended Black Soot Distress Oxide ink on the surface.

Then I started to stamp trees on the bottom part with Distress Black Soot Archival ink. For this I used a stamp from an old and discontinued die and stamp set by Sizzix Tim Holtz but I think you can find the same pine tree set in the Reindeer Flight stamp set (CMS052).

Since I found glue residue on the Santa cutout, I painted it with black acrylic paint. I glued the Santa on the card and I spattered the whole card with diluted white acrylic paint.

I inked the edges with Black Soot Archival ink.

What I used:

Sizzix Framelits die and stamp set, Holiday Joy (659376)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Village Christmastime (662424)

Ranger Distress Oxide ink (Black Soot)

Ranger Distress Archival ink (Black Soot)

black and white acrylic paints

etc.

Interactive Christmas card - Santa's in the chimney

For my interactive card, I got the idea from Torico who made a wonderful and playful card where Santa could go up and down in the chimney. So I decided to make a card with Santa who can also jump up and down in the chimney but I made some changes and I used a different technique and a different stamp set, actually a Birdie Brown's (Torico) stamp set :-)

Voilà, my card:

The background was a mixture of different shades of blues using Distress inks and Distress Oxide inks (Broken China, Chipped Saphire, Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky). Oh, I applied a little Black Soot as well.

The snow was made with the Snowfall Stencil by MFT using Ranger Opaque Matte Texture Paste.

The chimney was made with the Small Brick Wall stencil using the following Distress inks (Brushed Corduroy, Fired Brick).

The reindeers and Santa were stamped with Chocolate Hybrid ink and coloured with Copic Sketch markers.

And here you can see in pictures how Santa is coming up.

What I used:

MFT Birdie Brown, Jingle All The Way stamp set

MFT, Die-Namics A2 Rectangle Stax die - for the card, the roof and the chimney

MFT, Die-Namics Negative Dot Alphabet die

MFT, Die-Namics Surf&Turf die

MFT, Die-Namics Interactive Pull Tabs die

MFT Small Brick Wall stencil

MFT Snowfall stencil

MFT Pin&Slide disks

Ranger Distress inks

Ranger Distress Oxide inks

Copic Sketch markers

Ranger Opaque Matte Texture Paste

And in the end, here is my video:

Canvas with sleigh and reindeer by Brenda Walton

Here is a canvas I nearly forgot to finish it off! It was my daughter who found it yesterday and told me it was beautiful and asked me to finish it. Well, I was a good mum and now you can see my wintry canvas with crinkled paper napkins, stamped and stencilled snowflakes, pearls and glitters (and so on, and so on) on the background.

The sleigh and the reindeer are Sizzix Bigz Die by Brenda Walton: the Sleigh Favor Box (658742) and the Reindeer (658738).

The snowflake and the text are Sizzix Thinlits Die by Tim Holtz: Paper Snowflakes (660059) Home For The Holidays (662419).

The paints and crackle medium are from DecoArt.

Twas the night before Christmas

Here I am with a winter scene with MFT Santa Claus, reindeer and dog.

If I want to make a card for children I always test it on my daughter. If she likes it then I'm happy because I know I achieved my goal.

For this card I used two stamp sets from the MFT :

MFT Birdie Brown, Jingle All The Way

MFT Birdie Brown, New Best Friend

Red and green card with rusty deer

Hello Everybody, for the December challenge of the Country View Challenges blog, I created a Christmas greeting card with rusty deer and Holiday Knit background by Tim Holtz.

For this card, I have found the inspiration in the picture of the die. In the picture that was attached to the die you can see this:

And here is my tutorial:

I cut out a rectangle (5,4x3,7 in) with a Sizzix Framelits Die, Rectangle (658610) from white cardstock.

Then I cut out four stitched flags with MFT die. This die had the perfect size to cover my white rectangle.

After I placed the Holiday Knit die in the middle of the flag stripe and cut out the pattern.

Then I adhered them to the white cardstock one after another.

I inked the edges of the card.

The deer was cut out from chipboard, painted brown, then I put a thick layer of rusty paste on the surface.

For the text, I used Vintage Photo embossing powder which looks like rust after heating.

I hope you like it!

If you have any Christmas project, please don't hesitate to join our December challenge where you can win a £20 voucher!

P.S. This is a massage for Daria who asked me about the rusty paste I used. I'm sorry for the late answering but the cause of this was the Christmas. And otherwise, I'm not really sure that my aswer will be helpful because the rusty paste I used was a German one. The name is: Heike Schafer Rost Effekt and I added some extra cinnamon to this paste. I bought it in a Craft Market - Creative Expo in Luxembourg :-)

Christmas card with a car and flying Santa

Again, I used Tim Holtz "Home for the holiday" Thinlits die set to make this card. I said again because 2 weeks ago I've already shown you a similar card.

Here I used another Thinlits die set, the "Village Christmastime" from Sizzix-Tim Holtz.

And here I spritzed the snow.

And... I put vellum behind the car windows.

With my card I would like to join the Wednesday Challenge of the Simon Says Stamp blog: Christmas.

I hope you like it! Happy crafting!

Christmas gift box with MFT Stamps

I often use wooden boxes, but usually I alter them with decoupage technique. But sometimes I stamp on the lid and colour them with acrylic paints as I do it on cards with inks.

Right now, I'm ready with a cute box that can be really handy around Christmas. I'm not sure yet which kid in my family will get it.

I think I can't name all the DecoArt Americana paints that I used for my box, but I can tell you that the lid was covered with White Wash, the bottom and Santa's suit with Santa Red, the tree with Mistletoe.

The text and the little stars were embossed with Ranger Embossing Powders, Princess Gold and Red.

On the lid of my box I wanted to create a Christmas scene which looks like a page of a Christmas tale book.

The MFT Stamps I used:

Hand Lettered Holiday - only the little star

Jingle All The Way - Santa, Rudolph and a package

Santa's Elves - packages

Gift Tag Greetings  - 'Naughty or Nice' text

I hope you like it! Today I'll try to come again with a vintage Hungarian Christmas postcard... and I have another box to show...

With this box I would like to enter the Monday Challenge of the Simon Says Stamp blog: Christmas Gifts

Christmas card with deer and sleigh

Today is December 5th, tonight Saint Nicholas (Mikulás) will visit the Hungarian kids to put some tiny presents and candies to their shiny boots. Usually the kids put their cleaned and waxed boots on the windowsill to find the Mikulás treats on the following morning.

Mikulás comes in a sleigh pulled by deers (not reindeers). So for the second inspirational piece of our December challenge over at Country View Challenges I have brought you a card with Sizzix - Tim Holtz Prancing Deer (660033) and Sleigh.

I used a heavy duty craft sheet as a basic. Then I covered with a light blue winter patterned paper but before I stencilled snowflakes with pearl shine modelling paste/texture paste.

I cut out the sleigh and the deer from chipboard and painted with acrylic paints. After drying I smeared some shine on the surfaces.

I hope you like it! And if you have a project in Christmas theme (I bet you have), please don't forget to link it to our December challenge at Country View Challenges where you can win a £20 voucher!

Winter scene card - snowdrifts, reindeers and pine trees

My second project for our December challenge - Make a scene - is a card. To make this card I used mostly the Sizzix Reindeer stamp and die set by Hero Arts. Unfortunately this set is sold out and no longer available but maybe some of you have this die and maybe you just forget about it...

By the way, if you have a project which fits our challenge, please join us and link your lovely things of your own making.

First, I took the Sizzix Framelits Rectangle Die and I cut out the card.

Then I took the Die-namics dies and I cut out the snowdrifts.

I cut out two different snow drifts and I coloured the edges with Tskukineko Memento, Summer Sky ink.

With the Tsukineko Memento, Desert Sand colour I stamped the reindeers. After I coloured them with Ranger Distress, Tea Dye marker.

I stamped both reindeer again in different colours (red, blue) to cut out the jumpers with scissors.

I cut out the holiday cheer text with one of the label dies by Tim Holtz.

To inside of the card I stamped a happy holiday text and I cut out with Sizzix Framelits, Tickets Die. I also put a snowflake that I cut out with Sizzix Movers&Shapers Die, Mini Snowflake by Tim Holtz. I covered the snowflake with Glitter Glue.

What I used:

Sizzix Framelits Die, Rectangles (658610) - to cut out the card

Sizzix Framelits Die and Stamp Set, Reindeer by Hero Arts (657780) - for the reindeers, trees and the outside text

Die-namics Die, Snow Drifts  - to cut out the snowdrifts

Sizzix Thinlits Die Set, Labels by Tim Holtz (660060) - to cut out the 'holiday cheer' text

Sizzix Framelits Die, Tickets (657569) - to cut out the inside text

My Favourite Stamps, Hand Lattered Holiday - to stamp the inside text

Sizzix Movers&Shapers, Mini Snowflakes by Tim Holtz - to cut out the snowflake inside

Glitter Glue - I covered the snowflake wit this

Micro Glaze - I covered the stamped images with this to protect them

Tsukineko Memento ink pads

Ranger Distress Marker (Tea Dye) - I coloured the reindeers with this

Ranger Archival ink pad (Sky Blue) - to stamp the inside text
