Christmas card with a winter scene in an oval frame

Hello everyone, I'm ready with another Christmas card. For this, I used the Stampers Anonymous Scribble Woodland stamp set by Tim Holtz.

For making this card, first I stamped the image (wooden cottage with pine trees) to Neenah Solar White paper with Tsukineko Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Then I cut out the image with the biggest oval die of the Stitched Ovals die set. Then I coloured this scene with Copic Sketch markers. In the end, I spattered the image with white paint and added thick paint to the branches. As always, I inked the edge with Iced Spruce and a slightly with Gathered Twigs.

Since I didn't have a one size bigger oval shape die, I glued the image to a black cardstock and I cut out around the image a quite even frame. To make it more even, I distressed the edge with a knife.

You can see here that it wasn't perfect at all before the distressing.

Then I glued this framed image to a plaid patterned paper. I created a distressed frame for the plaid rectangle panel.

The text was stamped on a black cardstock with embossing ink, then I heat embossed with Princess Gold embossing powder.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Stitched Ovals (661188)

Stampers Anonymous, Scribble Woodland (CMS282)

Stampers Anonymous, Tiny Text Christmas (CMS424)

Idea-Ology Backdrops, Christmas 2023 (TH94346)

Neenah Solar White paper

Tsukineko Memento ink (Rich Cocoa)

Copic Sketch markers

Ranger embossing powder (Princess Gold)

etc.

Anniversary card with Christmastime couple by Tim Holtz

In October 2020 I made a card with the Christmastime couple which became quite popular. One of my friends liked this scene so much that she asked me to make a similar one for their anniversary, as it was 30 years ago this January when they started dating. So I made this.

Black and white card with Christmastime couple by Tim Holtz

So here is my fourth and for a while my last black and white Christmas card. This time with the Christmastime couple. Here on the blog you may have already seen my black and white card with the Christmas caroler, Festive Gent and Santa on his sleigh.

For the sky of this card I first used Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink and then Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I found the Hickory Smoke too light for an evening sky, so I added a coat of Black Soot ink. But then I noticed that the sky became still lighter than if I had just used the Black Soot ink.

Then I started to stamp the trees first from the Sizzix Holiday Joy stamp and die set, after with one of the Tree Line stamp set. For this I used Black Soot Archival ink.

The snowy ground was made with which acrylic paint tapping onto the surface with a sponge. And of course I spattered the card with diluted white acrylic paint.

The pair was cut out from black cardstock but I added a layer of acrylic paint on the surface.

What I used:

Stampers Anonymous, Tree Line (CMS244) by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Framelits die and stamp set, Holiday Joy (659376)

Stampers Anonymous, Tiny Text Christmas stamp set (CMS424)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Christmastime (664731)

Ranger Distress Oxide inks (Hickory Smoke, Black Soot)

Ranger Distress Archival ink (Black Soot)

Ranger embossing powder (super fine white)

etc.

MFT Birdie Brown children around a snow globe

Hello everyone, let me show you one of my projects that I make for a class of students who were taking part in a charity event. This is one of the Hungarian classes of the European School who filled shoe boxes with toys, sweets, hygiene items etc. to send them to Eastern Europe for children in need. One of the mums who organised this action and who collected the boxes asked me to make a big card thanking the children for the participation.

So I made a really big, A4 card.

The text means: To give is a joy!

I coloured the images with Copic Sketch markers. I covered the globe with Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder and the snowflakes were added with white embossing powders.

What I used:

MFT Birdie Brown Pile On The Hugs stamp set

MFT Birdie Brown Snow Buddies stamp set

MFT Birdie Brown, Santa's Elves stamp set

MFT Birdie Brown, Happy Pawlidays stamp set

MFT Negative Dot Alphabet Die-Namics

Sizzix Thinlits die, Snowglobe by Tim Holtz

Copic Sketch markers

Ranger embossing powders (white, gold tinsel)

etc.

Of course, I joined this action too and here you can read about the Shoebox Donation.

Tag with a bear - Cozy Winter by Tim Holtz

Hello again, as I promised here is my second creation with the cutest bear ever. After my card, I decided to make a tag.

The tag was cut out from 300 gsm paper and I painted it with Stormy Sky and Picket Fence Distress paints. Then I inked the edges of the blue part with Faded Jeans Archival ink, the white part with Hickory Smoke.

The bear was made the same way like at my earlier card. If you need a tutorial how to colour and assemble him, please click here. The only difference is that I sealed my bear with Micro Glaze here.

The text was stamped with embossing ink on black cardstock and heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine White embossing powder.

When glued the elements on the tag, I spattered the tag with Picket Fence paint.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Cozy Winter by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Festive Things by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Movers&Shapers die, Tag&Bookplates by Tim Holtz

Stampers Anonymous, Tiny Text Christmas by Tim Holtz

Ranger Distress Archival ink (Hickory Smoke, Faded Jeans)

Ranger Distress paint (Stormy Sky, Picket Fence)

Ranger Distress Ink (Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain)

etc.

Card with bear and birch tree - Cozy Winter by Tim Holtz

Hello everyone, I'm so happy that the Cozy Winter set arrived to my home. Covid and Brexit make it so hard to order and buy craft products especially from Luxembourg. Here in Luxembourg you can't find any store, neither a brick and mortar nor an online shop which sells Sizzix, Ranger or Stampers Anonymous products. I lost my UK sources, so my only hope is the online shops in Netherland and sometimes in Germany.  Well, despite the difficulties this cute bear is finally here and I could make a card with him.

And here is my tutorial.

The main part of the bear (later the hands or forelegs) was coloured with Vintage Photo and the edges with Walnut Stain. The belly and the muzzle were coloured with Antique Linen and the edges with Walnut Stain.

The scarf was cut out from a paper which was part of an old paper pad, the Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection set.

The ears were coloured with Tattered Rose Distress marker.

The birch trees were coloured with Pumice Stone ink. It means, I blended Pumice Stone ink to the edges of the trees and also drew tiny lines on the trees with grey watercolour marker.

I cut out a panel from watercolour paper that was placed behind the birch tree cover. This rectangle panel was coloured with Stormy Sky Oxide ink.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Cozy Winter by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Branched Birch by Tim Holtz

Stampers Anonymous, Tiny Text Christmas by Tim Holtz

Ranger Distress inks (Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Pumice Stone)

Ranger Distress Oxide ink (Stormy Sky)

Ranger Distress Archival ink (Black Soot)

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Grey house Christmas decoration

Dear all, I would like to wish you a very merry Christmas despite the circumstances, the Covid-situation. I know, this year's Christmas won't be the same for most of us. I think we have to revise and rethink lot of thing, and the Christmas is amongst them.

Today I would like to show you my Putz house that I made for my friends whom I can't meet this Christmas because of the restrictions in Luxembourg. But I hope we will make up our usual Christmas lunch later, maybe in Spring :-)

Well, this is their house, soon they will move to their new house which will be light grey with dark grey front door and roof.

I placed my house and my trees on the top of a paper box. And I attached the switch to the bottom with a scroll tape. So they can easily switch on the light.

What I used:

Sizzix Bigz XL die, Village Dwelling by Tim Holtz (for the house)

Sizzix Bigz die, Village Gingerbread by Tim Holtz (for the wreath)

Sizzix Bigz die, Village Bungalow by Tim Holtz (for the fence and for the window frames)

Ranger Distress Grit-Paste (for the snow to cover the box top)

Ranger Distress Glitter, Clear Rock Candy (to cover nearly everything with)

Ranger Distress Mica Flakes (for the pine trees)

Idea-Ology, Tiny Lights

etc.

Thank you for stopping by!!! Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas decoration - Log cabin ornament

After watching Tim Holtz fantastic demo, I decided to make my own wintery log cabin. So here it is:

Well, I don't write a tutorial for this because Tim tells and explains everything.

But my house differs from Tim's house in two tiny details. I used vellum paper inside the house, instead of Frosted sheets or plastic sheets. And I put the vellum in the house before I assembled the pieces.

The other thing that I put a layer of Opaque Matte Texture Paste on the whole roof then I sprinkled with Ranger Clear Rock Candy glitters.

I hope you like my little house!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Winter scene card with pink house

My today card was inspired by Kerstin Persang's card who used the Sizzix Thinlits die, Haunted by Tim Holtz on a Christmas card. It was a brilliant idea, so I created my own Christmas version from this versatile die.

For making this card, I cut out the house from white 300 gsm paper and painted pink with Ranger Distress Spun Sugar paint. I cut out the tiny cat from dark grey paper and glued on the pink cat.

The sky was painted with Stormy Sky paint, for the bottom part and for the snowfall, I used the Picket Fence paint. I also used diluted Picket Fence when the sky was dry.

The roof tiles, the shutters, the trees etc. were cut out from middle grey cardstock.

I not just spattered the card with white paint but also added snow with a brush to the branches. The trees are part of the Ghost Town Sizzix Thinlits die set.

The text was stamped with Ranger Hickory Smoke Archival ink and you can find it in the Stampers Anonymous Holiday Drawing stamp set by Tim Holtz.

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Winter scene with MFT Snow Buddies stamp set

Hello everyone, I'm here again with another card which was made for the Card Design Superstar Contest of the My Favorite Things. This one is for the Coloring Virtuoso category.

For this card, I got the inspiration from one of my earlier cards. Although I changed a little bit of my earlier scene, the main elements are still here. Well, I imagined a wintry scene on a filled where the children were playing all afternoon, the weather is cloudy and windy, and the snow started to fall. One snowflake even landed on the nose of the doggy. It's time to go home! But just one last picture!

What I used:

MFT Die-Namics, Slimline Starter die set

MFT Birdie Brown, Snow Buddies stamp set

MFT Cool Christmas stamp set

MFT Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set

Copic Sketch markers

Neenah Solar white paper

etc.

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Baby it's cold outside - Arthur at Christmas time

Thanks to Susan from the Country View Crafts the latest Sizzix/Tim Holtz dies arrived to my home. Luckily, the charming Arthur was among them. So I started to make a card and here is what I made.

The background was painted with Stormy Sky Distress paint and spritzed with Picket Fence paint.

Some of the elements were cut out from colour paper but enhanced with inks, like the branch, the holly leaves. Arthur was cut out from white papers with different textures and shades. I also inked the edges of all parts with Pumice Stone.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Arthur (Colorize) by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Thinlits die, Winter Wardrobe by Tim Holtz

Ranger Distress paints (Stormy Sky, Picket Fence)

Ranger Distress inks (Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Vintage Photo, Gathering Twigs, Mowed Lawn)

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #82

This beautiful Christmas postcard has a beautiful winter scene. What is interesting in this card that this is not embossed but debossed with gold. So the text and the little golden lines on the roofs, on the trees, on the child's hat are all debossed.

It was posted in 1930.

Vintage Hungarian Christmas cards #78

You can see a beautiful winter scene on this card but maybe you can't see the little sparkling glitters on the big pine tree, on the roof and in the sky. This little addition makes the card really precious for me.
