Shabby chic crackled birdhouse

As a a second piece of our June Challenge at Country View Challenges I have made a birdhouse. For this I used the same wooden structure what my teamie, Evelyn used for the April Challenge who is also our host in June.

So for this I have bought a very inexpensive wooden structure in a German dollar store what I wanted to decorate in Cath Kidston style (Remembering my spring holiday in London).

So first of all, I painted brown the surfaces with acrylic paint then I covered with printed cardstocks. For this I used First Edition Papers (Floral Pavilion). I glued the pieces of paper on the painted structure. 

(Szóval ehhez a madárházhoz egy nagyon olcsó favázat használtam, amit az egyik német eurós boltban vásároltam. Barna akrilfestékkel lefestettem, majd mintás kartonpapírral bevontam az oldalakat. Ehhez a First Edition papírjait - Floral Pavilion - használtam. Egy erős ragasztóval ráragasztottam a papírdarabokat.)

I sanded the edges, then I put a thin layer of Glue N Seal on the papers. It's very essential because when I missed it on the top of the house the crackle medium changed the colour of the papers. So with the sealer you preserve the colours. 

(Lecsiszoltam a széleket, majd bevontam egy vékony réteg decoupage ragasztóval - ragasztó és lakk egyben - a papírok tetejét. Ez nagyon fontos volt, mert ahol elmulasztottam a ház tetején például, ott a repesztőmedium megváltoztatta a papír színét.)

After the drying of the sealer I put a thick layer of DecoArt Crackle Glaze on the papers, I let them air dry.

(A decoupage ragasztó száradása után rákentem egy vastag réteg DecoArt Crackle Glaze-t, amit hagytam magától megszáradni.)

When it was dry nice crackles appeared everywhere and I rubbed white acrylic paint into the crackles. After I painted pink those parts which were not covered with papers.

(Amikor ez megszáradt szép nagy repedések jelentkeztek a papír felületén. A repedésekbe fehér akrilfestéket dörzsöltem, majd befestettem rózsaszínre azokat a részeket, melyeket nem vontam be papírral.)

For colouring the leaves I used Ranger Distress Ink Pads (Mowed Lawn and Bundled Sage). And I rubbed the roses with Ranger Distress Paint Dabber (Picket Fence).
