Birthday card with Clarence the elephant

Hello everyone, I'm here with a birthday card that I made for my daughter's best friend, Moesha whose favourite god is Ganesha the elephant-headed god. This is why I chose Clarence, and put him to the focal point of my card.

The background was made with different purple Distress inks, because Moesha's favourite colour is the purple. I splattered the background with gold paint.

Clarence's pieces were cut out from white paper and I painted them with different shades of grey. For painting them I used Distress paints and for achieving some middle tones I mixed the greys.

The suitcase was coloured with Distress inks.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Clarence Colorize (664428)

Sizzix Bigz die, Baggage Claim (664439)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Celebrate Colorize (666285)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Alphanumeric Label (664177)

Sizzix Bigz die, Crescent Moon&Stars (658716)

Now what? - Arthur is sitting on suitcases and frowning

Now what? That's the question Arthur is struggling with right now. But don't worry, Arthur is a wise owl, he can figure out the answer.

I have made this card for our current challenge over at the Country View Challenges. The theme is The birds and the bees and the lovely Sue will be your hostess in April.

For making this card, first I cut out the pieces of Arthur, then I started to paint the parts with Distress Pumice Stone paint. To the edges I blended Vintage Photo Archival ink.

Then I added a little brown (Gathered Twigs) for the pieces I had to glue on the top. For edges of these pieces, I used Ground Espresso Archival ink.

Then I spattered Arthur with Walnut Stain paint.

His eyes got Mowed Lawn colour, his beak Carved Pumpkin with a little brown. Here you can see all the paints and inks I used for colouring Mr. Cuteness.

For the background I took a watercolour paper and started to blend Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn ink. Then I made patterns on the paper with a stencil and Mowed Lawn Oxide ink. I spattered the background with Vintage Photo Spray Stain and inked the edges with Gathered Twigs.

Since I found the background too bold, I toned back the colour with diluted Picket Fence paint.

The suitcases were made earlier, you can see that post here.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Colorize Arthur (664730)

Sizzix Thinlits die, The Gent (665202)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Alphanumeric Classic Upper (664223)

Sizzix Bigz die, Baggage Claim (664439)

Hello everyone, at last, I'm here again. I have made a card with two of the suitcases I had shared with you last time (here is the link if you need).

I also used the Tumbled Glass and the Faded Jeans colours, in original and in oxide version. I stencilled my background with Picket Fence Distress paint. For this, I used the Linen stencil (THS061). I splattered the surface with Walnut Stain Spray Stain.

Sizzix Baggage Claim by Tim Holtz

It's time to travel, the suitcases are ready!

For these colourful suitcases, I used the Sizzix Bigz die, Baggage Claim by Tim Holtz. I cut the elements from 300 gsm watercolour paper and coloured them with Ranger Distress colours (original and oxide). Then I spritzed with water. When it was dry, I assembled the pieces. In the end, I smeared Micro Glaze onto the coloured surface to seal them and to give the paper an interesting texture.

I made these suitcases a few weeks ago but I forgot to share them with you. I only showed two of them with a tag I posted here earlier.

Thank you for stopping by!!!

Tag with little boy and suitcases

I think we can all agree that it's only a matter of time when this little boy, you and I can travel again. But right now I'm not even sure I can visit my family in Hungary this summer or to travel anywhere else. I also had to cancel my Easter trip to Hungary and Italy and my May trip to Dieppe (France). But I think I'm not alone and we all wait the possibility of safe travelling.

Till then here is my tag.

What I used:

Sizzix Bigz die, Baggage Claim by Tim Holtz

Sizzix Bigz die, Tag&Bookplates by Tim Holtz

Stampers Anonymous, Bricked Layering Stencil by Tim Holtz

Idea-Ology Baseboard Dolls

Idea-Ology, Clipping Stickers

Idea-Ology, Loop Pins

Ranger Distress inks

The suitcases were coloured with Distress inks, original and oxide as well. I spritzed them with water and when they were dry I rubbed them with Micro Glaze.

After the stencilling and when my bricks were completely dry, I painted with acrylic paints, brick by brick. I know it sounds silly, but I love how it turned out. I wanted to create something similar to the wall of the 9 3/4 platform at King's Cross Station (Harry Potter).

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

With my tag, I would like to join the challenge of The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog: Oh Man!
