Card - Halloween fireplace

Hello crafty friends, I'm here with the second project for our October challenge over at the Country View Challenges. This month I'm your hostess, it means I had to choose the theme which is (what else?) Halloween - create a scene.

My first project was a card with an outdoor scene where you can find the main elements of Halloween, you know, haunted house, bats, full moon, ghost.... Now here you can see the interior of that haunted house.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Fireside by Tim Holtz - for the fireplace

Sizzix Thinlits die, Frightful Things by Tim Holtz - for the ghost, the broom, the skull and the spider

Sizzix Thinlits die, Regions Beyond by Tim Holtz - for the candles and the bottles

Sizzix Thinlits die, Santa's Helper by Tim Holtz - for the books

Idea-Ology, Warn Wallpaper (Halloween) - for the background

Idea-Ology, Paper Stash (Dapper) - for the bottom of the background

Idea-Ology, Small Talk (Occasion) - for the text

Idea-Ology, Apothecary Vials - only one of the labels for the green bottle

So if you fancy making a Halloween scene, please don't hesitate to join our challenge where a randomly selected winner can have a £20 voucher to spend at the Country View Crafts online shop.

Halloween scene with green background

Hello crafty friends, I'm here with a Halloween card because it's already October and we have a new challenge over at the Country View Challenges. The theme was chosen by me, so it means I will be your hostess this month. The theme is: Halloween - make a scene.

And here is my card with a Halloween outdoor scene and with a green background. To be honest, for making a Halloween scene with green background was my longtime desire and here it was the opportunity.

The background was created with acrylic paints. I painted a full moon since this Halloween there will be full moon. For making this scene I had the inspiration from one of my earlier card which is quite popular on Pinterest, so you might want to see it. (Here is the link).

I put heavy weight vellum paper behind the windows.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Haunted by Tim Holtz (the house)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Frightful Things by Tim Holtz (the ghost)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Home for the Holidays by Tim Holtz (the car)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Haunted House by Tim Holtz (the bats)

Sizzix Thinlits die, Small Tattered Florals by Tim Holtz (the tree)

Sizzix On The Edge die, On the Fence by Tim Holtz (the fence)

Sizzix Sizzlits Strip die, Halloween Shadows by Tim Holtz (the pumpkin)

Stampers Anonymous, Regions Beyond by Tim Holtz (the text)

So if you fancy making a Halloween scene, please don't hesitate to join our challenge where a randomly selected winner can have a £20 voucher to spend at the Country View Crafts online shop.

Purple wine tag with ghosts for Halloween

'Tis the season to drink red wine and to make spooky wine tags for Halloween.

Last year I designed and created many spooky but funny wine tags and I really enjoyed every minute of it. So I decided to continue this joyful activity :-)

I wanted to repeat one of my last year tags in other colours. And I also made other changings. But for that tag, I wrote a tutorial of the background, so if you want to know how I made the background, please click here.

And here you can have a supply list of this tag:

MFT Die-Namics, Wine Tag die

Sizzix Thinlits die, Frightful Things by Tim Holtz

Stampers Anonymous, Distress Damask by Tim Holtz (CMS190)

Stampers Anonymous, Regions Beyond by Tim Holtz (CMS274)

Ranger Distress ink pads (Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord, Gathered Twigs, Black Soot)

Ranger embossing powder (black, white)

Idea-Ology, Adornments Wicked

Canvas - Halloween ghost town

Let me show you my latest project, a little canvas (10x20cm) with a Halloween scene. For this, I used only Sizzix-Tim Holtz dies.

The canvas was painted with black and grey acrylic paints. My favourite technique is to add and disperse the paints with a sponge.

I cut out the houses, the tree and the little fence from black cardstock, then I heat embossed them with Black Soot embossing powder by Ranger.

Then I glued grey cardstock pieces behind the houses.

All the other elements were painted with acrylic paints. The ghosts with white, the moon with grey, the bats with black acrylic paints.

The text is stamped and white embossed onto black cardstock.

I adhered all the elements to the canvas and in the end, I put a coat of Distress Resist Spray. I did the following: I sprayed into a plastic tray and then I tapped the resist medium with a piece of sponge onto the canvas, the whole surface.

What I used:

Sizzix Thinlits die, Frightful Things

Sizzix Thinlits die, Ghost Town

Sizzix Thinlits die, Haunted House

Sizzix On The Edge die, On The Fence

Stampers Anonymous, Pumpkinheads (CMS309)

Ranger Distress embossing powder, Black Soot

Ranger Distress Resist Spray

acrylic paints

You might ask why I applied Resist Spray on a canvas where I used acrylic paints. Acrylic paint doesn't need protection, right? Well, when I finished all the glueing, my canvas was full of tiny shiny areas, mainly around the little and delicate diceuts like tree and bets. But when I put a coat of Resist Spray, these annoying things were disappeared.

I hope you like it!!! Happy crafting!!!

P.S. I'm sorry guys, I have to boast about this. When I woke up on Monday morning and visited my Instagram page, I saw this:

What a great start of the day and the week!!!

Halloween wine tag with ghosts

This is my fifth Halloween wine tag!!! But I so enjoy making them :-)

If you want to see my earlier tags, please click on the "wine tag" label on the sidebar.

For making this tag, first I cut out the wine tag from 300 gsm watercolour paper with the MFT (My Favorite Things, Die-Namics) wine tag die.

Then I stamped one of the images from the Distress Damask stamp set by Tim Holtz on the tag for making a patterned background. I heat embossed the stamping with Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder.

Then I blended Carved Pumpkin Distress ink onto the surface.

I inked the edges with Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso Distress inks.

I cut out the ghosts with Sizzix Bigz Die, Ghosts (660963) by Tim Holtz from 300 gsm watercolour paper and inked the edges with Gathered Twigs ink.

Behind the ghosts' "faces" I glued brown paper inked with Ground Espresso.

I adhered the ghosts to the tag, cut off the excess and added my last "open if you dare" text from the Occasions sticker book by Tim Holtz.

I hope you like it!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

With my tag, I would like to join the:

12 tags of 2016 - Tim Holtz October tag - 2. version with ghosts

Earlier this month I had shown you my tag with a metallic Jack-O-Lantern what I had made as my version of Tim's October tag. In that blogpost you could also see that I had made two bases with crackled patchwork backgrounds. So it was time to use the rest to put together another October tag.

This time I imagined a spooky window frame where ghosts come through.

The window was cut out from chipboard, then I painted dark brown, after I smeared some Picket Fence paint onto the surface and inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.

And don't forget my giveaway where you can win a Tim Holtz stamp set, a MINI WEATHERED WINTER!

I hope you like my tag! Happy crafting!

Spooky Halloween box with ghosts

Well, this is my second upcycling project in October. My daughter, Eszter had an empty box, a very sturdy one and I it would have been a pity to throw it away. So I have transformed it into that:

And now I show you the before state:

I painted the two pieces black with acrylic paint.

Then I glued paper napkins on the surfaces with decoupage glue trying to make as much wrinkle as I could.

When it was dry, I glued the thick cardboard cut-outs onto the top.

I painted the box again with DecoArt Chalky Finish Black Paint.

Then I painted over the cutouts with DecoArt Metallic White Pearl paint.

Finally I rubbed the same metallic paint with a sponge onto the whole surface.

And that's it! I hope you like it! Happy crafting to you!

With this project I would like to join:

12 tags of 2015 - October - Ghosts

Here are my version of Tim's October tag.

For my tag I used a basic tag what I cut out with my Movers&Shapers Tag Die.

Then I cut out two tag using Tim's 'Seasonal' Paper Stash.

After I sanded the edges of the tag, I rubbed the tag with a sponge with the next Ranger Distress ink colours: Dried Marigold and Frayed Burlap. Then I rubbed the whole tag with Picket Fence Distress Paint Dabbers.

I cut out the ghosts from white cardstock and I spritzed with water and put Iced Spruce colour on it. Before it dried I spritzed Brushed Pewter Spray Stain. After I dried with a heat tool, I rubbed  just a tiny bit of Picket Fence Distress Paint too.

I rubbed some Picket Fence Distress Paint to the metal word band. 'Dream as if you'll live forever' just sounds terrifying under three threatening ghosts.

I also wanted to use the scary word, BOO as if the ghosts are saying this. And for this I used the hole of the tag as an O. I put glitter liner to the BOO.

Do you see that my ghosts are really floating? Because I just glued 4 tiny parts to the tag.

What I used:

Ranger Distress Ink Pads (Dried Marigold, Frayed Burlap)

Ranger Distress Paint Dabber (Picket Fence)

Ranger Distress Spray Stain (Brushed Pewter)

With this tag I would like to enter to the following challenges:
