Birthday card with brown-black fluffy dog

My darling nephew will be 9 in November and what's new, with his brother he became a dog owner this month. He has a brown-black fluffy baby dog, called Füge (Fig).

So I decided to make him a birthday card with his new friend.

For this card, I used Stephanie Barnard Cookie stamp what I bought to make cards with my Rozi, my bichon bolognese who looks exactly like Cookie. But since Füge is a boy and brown-black, I had to make some alterations, e.g. cut off the bow from the top of the head.

What I used:

Graphic45, Children's Hour stamp - I used the number 9 from this set

Ranger Distress inks (Tumbled Glass, Vintage Photo)

Ranger Distress markers

Ranger Archival inks

Ranger embossing powders (silver, clear)

And here is a not too good photo of the real Füge.

He is so cute, isn't he?

With my card, I would like to join:

Vintage Valentine's Day rosettes

I love to make home decorations! That's how my blog started... I wanted to share my home decorating ideas. And although I more often prepare cards lately, I still do seasonal decorations.

This is the time for the Valentine's Day decorations so I have made 3 rosettes.

They have a kind of vintage feeling thanks for the lovely images of the Authentique Paper Adore Set.

What I used:

Authentique Paper, Adore set 12x12

First Edition Paper, Pretty Posy set 12x12

Ranger Distress ink pad, Vintage Photo

If you don't know how to assemble the pieces of the medallion die, just watch Brenda Walton You Tube video.

Christmas card with a Bichon

Okay, the title is about one greeting card but actually I have made eight Christmas cards with one Bichon Bolognese on each!

I have, no... we have a 4 years old Bichon Bolognese, Rozi who has plenty of fans and admirers e.g. our postman, our lovely Italian neighbours (and not because the Bolognese is an Italian breed), Rozi's breeder, a Danish girl from my daughter's school etc....  So I knew that I might need many Christmas cards with Rozi.

Although Tim Holtz released a stamp set with dogs and I also have the dog stamp set from Katzelkraft neither of them have Bichon. Only Stephanie Barnard has a Bichon stamp, the Birthday 4 Cookie.

I wanted to put the stamped image into a frame, so I used a Sizzix Bigz Die by Tim Holtz, Ornate Frame 2 (661195).

I painted the frame gold with DecoArt Glorious Gold first but I found it too bright, too gold. This is why I tapped some Metallic Taupe liner from Marabu.

In this picture bellow you can see the difference.

The Santa's hat is from Stampers Anonymous Crazy Things, the text is from Crazy Talk.

All right, I won't bore you with all the eight versions, from these you can see that I made boyish and girlish Christmas cards too.

And now a little extra... photos with Rozi  (I don't often share family photos - but Christmas is approaching).

Rozi and Eszter in the car when we went to buy the Christmas tree this weekend.

And Rozi here with her Mona Lisa smile when she occupied our bed.

Happy Christmas preparations to all of you!!! Now it's just a few days!!!

Valentine's Day heart banner

First of all, thank you for your lovely comments you have sent me for my umbrella man canvas. Your kind words meant a lot to me.

And now here is my Valentine-banner... I don't know really that it is a banner or rather a garland... but anyway, I wanted to make home decor for Valentine's Day. I wanted hearts, I wanted red and I wanted some sparkles. So the result is here:

And now, I will tell you how I made this.

I cut out four hearts from chipboard with using the Sizzix heart shape dies that way you see in the picture.

I painted them red with acrylic paint - both sides!

Then I smeared some glitter liner with a brush on both sides too.

After drying I run them through the Sizzix machine between a floral embossing folder. Inked the edges with some brown ink.

I covered with acrylic medium.

Then I cut out the letters and covered with glitter liner.

And of course I cut out flowers from pink and red cardstocks. Inked the edges with Ranger Gathered Twigs. Onto the flowers I put a touch of glitter liner, rhinestones in the middles and acrylic medium in the end.

What I used:

Christmas card with a bichon

We have a bichon bolognese. Her name is Rozi and she will be 3 years old on Wednesday. She is the cutest doggy in the world.

Because of her, about one year ago I have bought Stephanie Barnard's Cookie stamps and dies.

And because of her I have made a Christmas card for the breeder of Rozi, for a very lovely lady.

What I used:

Sizzix Framelits Die, Rectangles (658610)

bakers's twine

Ranger Distress ink pads

StazOn ink pad (Blazing Red)

And here is a photo about the real Rozi :-)

Sizzix - A happy birthday masculine card with hat and moustache

With this card I join a challenge on Simon Says Stamp blog: Make it masculine!

This will be the birthday card of my hubby :-)

To make this card I combined  two Sizzix step-up cards by Stephanie Barnard.

First I cut out the basic with Sizzix Happy Birthday Step-Up Framelits Die:

I used the other side of the printed cardstock to cut out the "happy birthday" saying.

I used another cardstock to cut out the hat twice with Sizzix Top Hats and Moustaches Thinlits Die by Jen Long (659063). After I cut out the hat from a simple brown cardstock and with scissors I cut out a piece for the band.

I cut out the moustache twice from a plain black cardstock.

I used a very thin but strong wire and I placed and glued it to the middle of the hat and the moustache.

What I also used:

Sizzix Framelits Die, Basic by Stephanie Barnard (660023)

Basic Crate Paper double sided cardstock (680170)

Authentique Paper, double sided cardstock, Natural Collection "Beaming"

Ranger Distress Ink Pads (tea dye, scattered straw, frayed burlap) - for the edges of the elements

Pritt Stift Stick, 3D adhesive, Aleene's Tacky Glue (fast grab)
