Complementary colours - purple and yellow

Hello everyone, here is my second project for our September challenge over at the Country View Challenges. Our theme is Complementary Colours and the lovely Evelyn chose this theme, hence she will be your hostess.

My first project was a card with golden circles. For that card I used all the main colours. Here I stayed on the abstract art, on circles actually but instead of all the main colours I chose only the purple and the yellow.

Here is my new creation.

The black background paper was painted with acrylic paint. 

The circles were cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Ring Frame die from Idea-Ology 8x8" Metallic Kraft paper (gold). I also put this paper under the black panel. 

The circles in the circle frames were painted with acrylic paints too.

I also glued some gold dots on the side to complete the composition.

Card with circles - complementary colours

Hello everyone, it's already September so we have a new challenge at the Country View Challenges. The theme is Complementary colours and the lovely Evelyn is the hostess of this challenge.

My first project for this theme is a card with the six main complementary colours.

For this card, I used the Simon Says Stamp Circle Thin Frames die set. The frames were covered with Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder and the circles were inked with Ranger Distress inks (originals and oxides too). The top layer was always Oxide ink.

The black background paper was made by me. I blended different black inks onto the surface to achieve a nice even colour.

The text was from the Stampers Anonymous Crazy Talk stamp set and were heat embossed with Princess Gold embossing powder.

I used the same embossing powder to create a frame for the panel under the black paper.

Vintage card - colours of France

You know, I love France, every year I spend some time there. I also love the vintage travel posters of France. At the Pinterest, I have a board for them.

So I made this card because the French National Day, the 14th of July is soon here. And for making it, I had a poster inspiration.

Tim Holtz Crazy Bird on purple background

This ATC was made for that friend whose favourite colour is the purple and who likes to sing.

And here is my tutorial.

With Sizzix Framelits Die I cut out a 10x15 cm rectangle and covered both sides with gesso.

With decoupage glue I attached torn music sheets here and there on the card.

With Tim Holtz Heart stencil and with the Marabu pearl white modeling paste I made some hearts.

With two DecoArt purple (Dioxazine Purple, Purple Pearl) paints I covered the card. 

I wiped off the purple paint from the hearts.

I cut out the branch with the Sizzix Bigz Die, Bird Branch by Tim Holtz and painted brown.

I stamped a bird with the Stampers Anonymous Crazy Bird stamp using Ranger Archival ink pad (Jet Black), and coloured with the following Ranger Distress Markers: Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint. But before I started the colouring, I put a tiny amount of acrylic medium onto the eyes and in the end (after drying) I put medium onto the whole bird.

From the Stampers Anonymous Crazy Things Set I chose a hat and I stamped, coloured and cut out. But with scissors I cut into the hat along the line (show in the picture) for inserting the top of the bird's head.

I coloured the hat with Ranger Distress Marker, Squeezed Lemonade.

I cut out the word "hello" with the Sizzix Thinlits Die, Friendship Words Script by Tim Holtz and glued to the top.

I stamped a nice sentiment from the Stampers Anonymous, Perspective set (CMS213) with Ranger Archival Ink.

I made two holes on the top with Crop-A-Dile, Big Bite.

I colored brown the edges of the card.

I covered the whole card with a thin layer of acrylic medium.

I put a purple organza ribbon to the card, so it can be hanged.

Thank you card with Tim Holtz flower and stencil

With this "Thank you" card I join the Monday challenge on Simon Says Stamp. The theme: For the love of plants.

For making this, I cut out a rectangle from chipboard.

Then I put a layer of gesso on both sides.

Then I used one of the stencils of Tim Holtz (Blossom) and modelling paste to make a floral background.

Then I coloured both sides mostly with Ranger Bundled Sage Distress Ink and a little bit of Tea Dye and Frayed Burlap for the edges. On the floral side I put Mowed Lawn too.

I stamped the flowers with one of the stamps of Tim Holtz (Flower Garden) and StazOn Ganache ink.

I coloured the flower with Ranger Distress Markers (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Walnut Stain).

With scissors I cut out the stamped and coloured elements of the flowers (flower head and stem). 

After I glued the parts on the card with Aleene's Tacky Glue (Quick Dry).

A made two holes with Crop-A-Dile Big Bite.

A made a "thank you" saying with Tim's stamp: Simple Saying. 

I cut this out with Sizzix Everyday Eclectic Thinlits Die.

I coloured the edges of the label with Victorian Velvet and after I glued it on the card.

One ribbon and voilà.... my card is ready.

P.S.: Oouups, I forgot to say that I rubbed Judikins Micro Glaze on all surfaces with my fingers to protect the ink, but you can use Tim's Micro Glaze as well.

Sizzix - A happy birthday masculine card with hat and moustache

With this card I join a challenge on Simon Says Stamp blog: Make it masculine!

This will be the birthday card of my hubby :-)

To make this card I combined  two Sizzix step-up cards by Stephanie Barnard. 

First I cut out the basic with Sizzix Happy Birthday Step-Up Framelits Die:

I used the other side of the printed cardstock to cut out the "happy birthday" saying.

I used another cardstock to cut out the hat twice with Sizzix Top Hats and Moustaches Thinlits Die by Jen Long (659063). After I cut out the hat from a simple brown cardstock and with scissors I cut out a piece for the band. 

I cut out the moustache twice from a plain black cardstock.

I used a very thin but strong wire and I placed and glued it to the middle of the hat and the moustache. 

I cut out the numbers with Sizzix Sizzlits Antiqua Numbers by Brenda Walton (658338).

OMG! I've just linked my canvas to A Vintage Journey blog and here is another challenge, the Monday Challenge on Simon Says Stamp, the Pastels.

Well, I couldn't resist, I had to make a pastel card :-)
