This my second make for our May theme on the Country View Challenges Blog: USE A STENCIL. Don't forget, this month we have two challenges!!! The usual challenge where you can win a £20 voucher with random generator and a blog hop where you can win a Big Shot Machine&Die Bundle - just follow the rules!
For the USE A STENCIL challenge as my second piece I wanted to make an elegant tag overwhelmed with gold. And as I think the turquoise is so beautiful with the gold I have chosen this combo.
For this I took a chipboard and I cut out a tag with Sizzix Movers&Shapers Die, Tag and Bookplates by Tim Holtz (656938). I covered with gesso - I think I put at least 3 coats on both sides.
I placed Tim Holtz Flourish Stencil on my tag.
I rubbed Ranger Distress Ink (Scattered Straw) onto the tag through the stencil, I dusted Ranger Embossing Powder (Princess Gold) and after I removed the stencil.
With a heat tool I melted the powder. And I just loved the result.
I stamped the butterfly from Tim Holtz (Stampers Anonymous) Perspective set with Ranger Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs) on a white sketch paper and I dusted with the same Princess Gold Embossing Powder. I melted the powder with heat gun. With scissors I cut out the butterfly.
I put a tiny drop of Candied Apple Reinker and an other drop from the Peacock Feathers Reinker to a plastic sheet and with a wet brush I coloured the butterfly. In the end I added a thin layer of Ranger Glossy Accents with a brush to protect my butterfly and give her a little shine.
I cut out the "beautiful" word with Sizzix Thinlits Die, Handwritten Love by Tim Holtz (660218) from dark brown cardstock. I glued it on, and that's it!
I hope you like it! Happy crafting!
