Two days ago my daughter asked me to make her something, a decoration on her wall. She didn't mind if the theme was autumnal or Halloween, but it couldn't be scary.
And because I haven't used the Scarecrow die yet, it was time to create something with it. And to make it more child-friendly, I gave this scarecrow a personality.
What I used:
So this is a little (13x18cm) canvas.
First I adhered a napkin paper with decoupage glue with creating many wrinkles during the process.
After drying I put a layer of white acrylic paint (DecoArt White Wash).
After drying I coloured with watered acrylic paints (DecoArt).
After drying I tried to colour slightly the wrinkles with light brown Derwent crayon.
The tree was painted with acrylic paint, all the other elements are inked (Ranger Distress).
The pumpkin is from Brenda Brown when last year I won a giveaway on her blog. It was perfect here, so thank you, Brenda!
With my canvas I would like to join the following challenges:
- Monday Challenge of Simon Says Stamp: Not a card
- A Vintage Journey: Crazy For Autumn Colour
- Creative Artiste Mixed Media: Anything mixed media goes (31)
How sweet! I love the scarecrow and the little pumpkin patch scene you created! What fun! Thank you for playing along and showing that you are 'Crazy For Autumn Color' at A Vintage Journey! Hugs! Sara Emily
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I love the texture on the background and the way you created the scene. Thank you for joining Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
ReplyDeleteThat's just fabulous - the textured sky is lovely and your paper-pieced scarecrow is simply delightful.
