Card with roses by Tim Holtz

Hello everybody, let me show you the second inspirational project I made for the March challenge of the Country View Challenges. The theme was chosen by the lovely Sue: Postcard 6x4"

A 300gsm mixed media paper was painted with DecoArt Americana Light Buttermilk colour. Usually, for me, the painting means that I tap the paint with a sponge to the surface.

Then I added DecoArt Americana Mississippi Mud colour with a toothbrush.

When it was dry I added DecoArt crackle paste through the mosaic stencil by Tim Holtz.

I inked the edges with Ranger Archival Potting Soil ink.

The flowers were stamped on 300gsm watercolour paper and heat embossed with Ranger white embossing powder. I coloured them with Abandoned Coral and Mowed Lawn.

I put a layer of Micro Glaze to protect the colours of the flowers.

The text was cut out with one of the dies of Sizzix Thinlits, Handwritten Celebrate set.

I hope you like it and if you have a project with the size of 6x4", please don't hesitate to join our March challenge where you can win a £ 20 voucher.

  1. Love this - especially the texture paste through the stencil, have never seen crackle texture paste, like the idea of that! Rachel
