Easter card with framed rabbit

At the Country View Challenges, we have a new challenge: Postcard 6x4". The hostess of this theme is the lovely Sue.

For this challenge, I made an Easter card.

For making this card, I used the Sizzix Rectangle Framelits die (658610). The biggest die of this set is 5,8x4,1" so it's nearly the same that Sue wanted for this challenge :-) I cut out the base card with this one from kraft paper.

I cut out a one size smaller card from 300gsm mixed media paper and I painted yellow with DecoArt Americana Pineapple colour.

Then I stamped the damask pattern one by one on the card with Ranger Distress Antique Linen ink and sprinkled with Ranger white embossing powder. I melted the powder with my heat gun.

After this process, I smeared white Amsterdam acrylic paint with a sponge onto the surface to tone down the bold colour.

Then I cut out the frame from heavy cardstock. It was heavier and thicker than my 300gsm paper. I tapped white acrylic paint onto the frame. When it was dry I inked a little bit with Ranger Distress Antique Linen.

I used the inside oval part of the frame to draw a little bigger oval on a 300gsm watercolour paper.

I trimmed out the oval, then I stamped the rabbit on it with Ranger Archival Potting Soil.

I watered Ranger Distress inks and then I coloured the image and its background with a brush.

Then I inked the edge with Ranger Distress inks (Antique Linen, Vintage Photo).

Then I assembled my card with glueing.

For the text, I used Tim's Small Talk Occasions sticker book. I cut off the "peter cottontail' part from the "here comes peter cottontail" text.

I used the smaller die of Sizzix Framelits dies, Tags by Paula Pascual (658611) to cut out a strip for the text.

I inserted two brads into the strip.

If you have a 6x4" sized postcard, please join our March challenge where you have the chance to win a £20 voucher.
