Sizzix - Autumn card with layered leaves

In October we have a new challenge at Country View Challenges. The new theme is: Add some texture. If you fancy just join us and link your textured projects. You can win a £ 20 voucher!

At the beginning of October we have two birthdays in our family. One is my mother's, the other is my mother-in-law's birthday. I have made these autumn textured card for them.

October is one of the most colourful month of the year. And I really wanted to put all those beautiful autumn colours onto the cards: the red, the yellow and the brown.

For making these cards, I cut out two rectangles from chipboards and I put some modelling paste on the card through the Sizzix Burlap Layering Stencil by Tim Holtz (THS007).

I painted them with two different colours of brown acrylic paints. I put the darker brown mainly to the edges.

I cut out the leaves with Sizzix Bigz Die, Layered Leaf by Tim Holtz (660039) and coloured with aquarelle pencils.

And my leaves after applying wet brush:

When they were completely dry I run them through the Sizzix Big Shot in the embossing folder of the leaves. In the end I rubbed with Tsukineko Memento inks  (Rhubarb, Dandelion). For the yellow leaves I smeared a tiny amount of brown acrylic paint onto them.

From brown cardstock I cut out rectangle tag shapes. I rubbed them a little white Ranger Distress Paint Dabber (Picket Fence). These are the backgrounds for the October (Október) words which were cut out by Sizzix Thinlits 3/4 Tall Alphanumeric Die (660056).

I glued an orange colour cardstocks to the back and sanded the edges.

I also used two stickers from Tim Holtz Big Chat Sticker Book
